The momentum is slipping...that horrible stat of 6 games conceding straight after half time is something that needs addressing quickly!

I think Cooks bold move of switching players around hasn't worked...maybe this is a sign we aren't as good as what we think!!

No disrespect, but after the start we've had & the way we have been playing...the growing sense of 'hey, we could challenge for promotion here'..we should be winning at teams in the lower reaches..then.....

BANG..back to earth with severe bump

I don't think its a bold move of switching players around - it was a move to see who can come in and cope when Johnson goes back to Villa, and maybe he got an answer tonight.

I never had a sense of "hey we could challenge for promotion here" - I want 50 points as soon as possible and then we can relax and see where we go

A new hope.

wouldn't say poor defending. the second goal was an absolute belter, with lots of swerve and dip, or a lucky one that caught the wind. not our best performance granted, but your being a bit harsh

thing is when we had wind first half shoot more instead of trying to walk it in

the wind was all over the place. sat in the away end the flag at that end nearest to us was blowing one way, the corner flag on the far side another and the big flag by the home "kop" looked to be blowing across the ground. I think "strong swirling wind" best describes it. Unpredictable wind, not great conditions and not a great display.

IMO the manager can use this as a learning curve about his squad, and use the negatives to learn just as much as the positives, He didn't start with is best 2 players, he saw where we are without them.

A new hope.

well done to the Bridge bus drivers getting us back for 1-00am amazing 401 m&s round trip.
that was the worst game of the season not helped by the strong wind. they just huffed it over the top at every occasion and caught our defence and midfield napping twice once again. the Evo / Marg. Coupling is not working they are both slow to react at times. MORSEY had is one and only stinker this season, how have we thrown points away again? Doyle needs some help up front, I'd have started with Gardener instead of Ollie.Forget tonight get there in big numbers at Walsall your team needs. Your tremendous vocal support.

How do you stop a wonder strike from the corner of the penalty area? You say bad defending, but for me It was just a damn good goal.

I thought Evo and Margrietter looked comfortable most of the game. if anything, we looked weak down the flanks, not down the centre.

A new hope.

Warfey ,I could not agree more, the difference last night was when Morsey, Clucas, Banks, and Ryan etc got themselves in those positions, their defenders and midfielders closed in quickly to prevent that from happening. When they had the same opportunities we backed off and let them shoot. This was the worst second half performance since Morecambe last year. Johnson brought on too late and The defenders Doyle in their pockets.

I disagree with the "it was a good goal there was nothing we could do about it" Why was he allowed the time to pick his spot from the edge of the box? We would get hammered at sunday league level for not closing someone down on the edge of the box!

To many had a bad game last night and I mean bad rather than mediocre. Dave was poor defending and poor when attacking. Morsey and Ryan were as poor as i have seen them play together. Doyle , who I'm a big fan of was ineffectual . The two centre halves had a poor game too relying on Tommy to sweep up on numerous occasions. Banks looked unfit and played like it. Jones and Clucas were the only reasonable performers. Johnson when he came on livened things up a little .

Ryan, Roberts and Morsey often shun the chance to shoot preferring to pass sideways across the penalty area - nothing's new it seems to be the way we play. Against Oldham Ryan was in space on the edge of the box and presented with an excellent chance to shoot from a Darikwa pull back in the first half but chose not to.

Then how many times does Roberts frustrate and fail to get a shot away because he constantly tries to get it on his left foot. O'Shea frustrates the hell out of me in the area as he constantly tries to beat a man rather than hit it first time. Good strikers go for goal not for tricks.

I've noticed that in quite a few games lately. When the opposition attack us we seem to backpedal and give them time and space. I feel like I want to scream for god's sake tackle him.

I would have to look on the highlights - before commenting about the closing down.

Fair points, although I thought the CB pair were ok. Gardner looked lively when he came on.

Evo got wrong footed for the first with Darwikwa somewhere in midfield, why didn't the cb s et stuck in instead of letting Sears turn and hit that rocket,he had warned thm on at least a couple of occasions beforehand.Come on Evo we need you back to form, get that defence sorted and organised.

Evo has been known to let forwards turn on an 8 yard radius a number of times when playing for us. I recall posting the same last season.

It wasn't Evos fault that Darykwa was out of position.

How many different spellings can you have of Darikwa in one thread?? (though I don't know why I stopped at Darikwa  )
