Karl, sometimes you've just got to let the ones you love go. I'm speaking from experience. Nate is now playing for Yeovil so I know how heartbreak feels. It heals over time xoxoxox

True - though it's not over with Johnson until it's over ;)
and a couple of mill+ will ease the heartache over Sammy

Had a word with 'Deepthroat' this morning, and apparently all Cook was alluding to is getting more game time for current fringe players and trying different options.

Heyup

well yep, 'changes' might mean that, but he did say very clearly that he was looking and that if he could shift out, then he would be able to shift in. The important bit is that however he does it, he's now not satisfied with our status, and he's going to take action to try to improve it.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

In about 10 days(?), then it will be 2 years since PC took over.

The fact that we are able to have a thread of this nature (with the club in top half of Div 1) is down to PC.

Well done Paul Cook!!

I don't think we will get 5 million for Sammy, though I easily think we'll get two plus! What I do believe is that we should put a 5 million price tag on him when the interest starts to kick in (and it will believe me). This will do two things... create more interest and show willing buyers that we aren't messing about and we will only consider serious bids.
I firmly believe we won't consider anything less than 1.5 million. Like anything, time will tell  That's where my valuation of 5-8 million came from, you don't value a player at 1 million if you want a million; you start high and come down and I like to think our board would see the value in Sammy to us and turn down anything less than 1.5 million (unless it carry very favourable sell on clauses).

If we said 5 million any championship club would laugh at us. His agent will also let the player know if there is any interest. We wouldn't turn down a bid of 1 million and force an unsettle player to stay. It might well end up being a bid, with add ons that creeps towards 1.5 million, but IMO a seven figure record breaking transfer fee would be very difficult to turn down.

What we need is a cup run, beating someone like Birmingham or Wigan at home in the 3rd round with Sammy having the game of his career on telly. Then a few clubs might be interested and start a bidding war.

A new hope.
