What was the point in that then, if we paid all his wage, he might aswell still be here.

Does it necessarily mean that?

Not that I’ve ever given it much thought before, but I would have thought that all players out on loan would continue to be on their contracted club’s payroll. Any financial arrangements to cover some or all of that would be made separately and between the two clubs.

I think all loanees are paid in full by their parent club. The question is whether Ebbsfleet paid CFC what they agreed to pay, usually summat simple per month. Probably summat else for Ashley to write off.

or their contracted club's development school payroll.
It's a little known FA rule.

Correction, not the clubs development school but a separate company that isn't part of the club...

I'm told we did get a contribution from Ebbsfleet for Gozie, just under half his wage

It's gratifying that them in charge continue to monitor this board.
Probably a simple £2k a month then.

Never really worked out for him here, like several other so called strikers.

I'm told we are still waiting to be paid by Ebbsfleet for Gozie but we will get the money once their funds have been released

Presumably the keeper will claim he hasn’t been paid because he’s black.

well that's reassuring.
Could you ask whether this is normal practice please?
Are these funds that will still be outstanding at our year end?

Do we do the same, ie pay our debts to clubs who have lent us players with funds that have not yet been released by the organising body 'cos they are supposed to be for next season?

You'd assume 'fees' for loan players are underwritten by the FA, as with transfer fees?

I don't know if they will be outstanding or not by the year end. I'm informed there also other clubs still to pay invoices for players loaned out.

It is of course not unusual in any business for bills from customers not to be paid.

I've not looked at Ebbsfleet's situation so can't comment on the next season point but if I get more information I'll post it up, if it's not confidential

Ta
No big deal, but it would be interesting to know whether we and others tend to settle this season's debts with next season's money.
