I went to the university and saw the 1st ever game at stirling's forthbank ground versus Clydebank, a 3-2 win for Clydebank, 1992 I think. Is it still just a very small stand behind the goals (the stands behind the grounds used to be so small it looked almost like a 2 sided ground)

Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have something to forgive

For anyone interested in Scottish football, I thoroughly recommend this programme:

https://www.bbc.co.u...rom-the-terrace

I reckon its format might well get copied by other channels, though the honesty and language will inevitably get stripped out.

Question for Siberian and warfey .. I once read a ground hopping book called
"A Season of Hell: Fin-de-siecle Football Guide to Scottish League Grounds" by David Bennie. It mentioned encountering a chesterfield fan at one of the northern Scottish grounds in 1996/97. Was that town fan either of you?

Not me. That sort of time would have marked my first visit to Scotland, which was just a quick drive over the border to Eyemouth, Coldstream etc.
These go to eleven.

Not too bad is it! We went up a fortnight before for the Elgin game.

The hospitality package there is second to none! (includes a free bar as well)

We just went in the club bar, no draught beer just cans but it was right enough, as was the town centre, worth exploring further if I ever go again

nice town Stirling, the top of the town near the castle very nice and the settle inn nearby was a very nice old fashioned pub.

That's the area I'd like to check out, we never got as far as walking up the hill to the castle due to the cracking boozer at the bottom (can't remember the name)
