English Berwick Rangers have been relegated from the Scottish Football League for the first ever time and will now play in the Lowland League. I imagine that will be a big dent in their funding.

Weird ground Berwick. Also a speedway stadium (well, very close by). It was a sunny day when I went and it still seemed like the back of beyond. Think the old Rotherham ground at Millmoor.

If memory serves right, the track is around the pitch?

I visited Shielfield on a non-matchday, tried to walk right around the ground and ended up scrambling through some trees beneath the perimeter wall only to emerge at neighbouring Old Shielfield, home of Tweedmouth Rangers, who have just had a slightly better season than the last one. Still only four points amassed over the campaign but only 115 goals against this time as opposed to 139 the year before.

It’s a real pity to see Berwick go. I watched them gain promotion at Stenhousemuir just over a decade ago and they were well-supported . I later read their club history and there have been memorable achievements such as dumping Rangers out of the cup (much like we did) and launching the careers of Jock Wallace and John Hughes.

I managed to do East Stirlingshire before they got thrown out of their home ground in Falkirk, Fir Street, so I have technically done 32 not 31 grounds. I think they now groundshare with Falkirk FC

I did Firs Park- loved it. I don't think the ground has been redeveloped yet- it is visible on Google Earth. There is a good book about one of their last seasons there too.

For anyone interested in Scottish football, I thoroughly recommend this programme:

https://www.bbc.co.u...rom-the-terrace

I reckon its format might well get copied by other channels, though the honesty and language will inevitably get stripped out.

Me and my dad have followed Stirling Albion for the past 4/5 years now alongside town and tend to go up once a year to watch them.

Gutted Berwick have got relegated. It was the closest game for us by far!

I went to see Stirling Albion entertain Cowdenbeath last month, tidy set up they have there
