I think if he'd have stayed instead of jumping ship for Peterborough they'd have gone up automatically last season, they were starting to fly. Big budgets the last two years without the crowds and player sales we had. It was always a chance that that sort of expenditure wasn't going to last for ever in the bottom League with such poor gates and little transfer revenue help to sustain it.

Agree, they only got decent crowds in the last few games and I don't recall them selling any players in ages

According to stagier at work Flitcroft inherited 4/5 players he didn’t want who were in big money and he didn’t play them. Apparantly those players accounted for a third of the budget. In theory if that is indeed true, and I’ve no idea it’s just what they told me, they could cut the budget by a third without it actually affecting the “playing” budget, if that makes sense.

Don't know ins and outs but budget must be big if getting a team to the play offs and loosing on penalties warrants a sacking to be replaced by who must be one of the youngest managers in the league
