It's almost like they want a reason for it to fail...

They could allow the sub keeper on and an outfield player to leave with the keeper, but that might be too much common sense for the FA.

If a prop forward in Rugby Union is binned, they have to have a specialist replacement to contest the scrum, which means sometimes a flanker or a back is removed from the field in orfer to make it happen.

Or its a deterrent to stop them doing things to get sin binned knowing that if they do they are really leaving their team in a hole. If they behave themselves and dont get sin binned its all good.

In all in favour of cracking down on dissent as I think the game will simply run out of referees soon, such is the abuse they suffer.
It will also be fun seeing outfield players in sticks- apparently a sin binned keeper comes back on as an outfield player until a stoppage in play too.
These go to eleven.

Anything that has an impact like this that can discourage players being dicks seems fine to me. If a goalkeeper knows that if he does something to get sin binned that has this sort of ramification then hopefully he will think twice about what he is doing. Also if games end up with 9 v 8 etc at times then so be it.

All this said nothing will probably really change at the lower levels until things are taken seriously and it starts to change at the top level. Folk are seeing players on the telly week in week out doing it with no punishment and seem to think its ok.

Also, if they can extend it to timewasting, we might never have to see Nathan Ashmore on the pitch again.
These go to eleven.
