Cannot understand why Marriott didn't start after the impact he made after coming on against Leeds

Lampard thinks his attitude stinks , I'm told. Still, starting Nugent at home v Leeds was a decision all Derby fans seemed to question- he's apparently a year past playing at that level, with know-how but no pace.
These go to eleven.

Anyone who thinks Mason Bennet is the man to fire a team from the Championship into the Premiership is deluded.

I’ve been to a few Derby games this season and can confirm he is absolutely terrible. They don’t deserve to go up leaving players like Marriott and Waghorn on the bench and playing Bennett.

Totally agree.

Spoiled the occasion somewhat seeing how upset Armand was at missing out on a potential Wembley appearance, for a loanee we were never going to sign

I don't watch or follow Derby so can't really comment on the general views of fans etc but surely they must be scratching their heads at that team selection?

Could do a job for us?

No end product most of time. He gets more a week than we would pay in a month even if he was at top end of our pay structure.

He’s strong and powerful but he isn’t a championship footballer.

He was a total non performer for us.

Shameful, but it kind of reflected in the cruel treatment he got on here

I don’t follow them either but I have a few mates that go to the games so been to about 6/7 this season when town have been away, I was strangely happy that they lost today. Today isn’t the first time they’ve been scratching their heads at team selection, there is almost certainly a problem between Marriott and Lampard unless he’s just that clueless. It’s the same story every time they bring him on from the bench just the same as against Leeds and Villa. They only start playing once he’s brought on and are usually chasing the game, very strange.

I disagree. He was a young, raw unknown brought in on a deal which may or may not have been good for an agency we seemed to have oddly close connections with at the time but gave his all and scored one or two useful goals (Pompey away and a late home winner spring to mind....Sarfend?). He was naive at times, eg giving the ball away cheaply at home v Rochdale leading to their late equaliser, but for a young lad trying to make it in an unfamiliar country where he didn’t speak the language, he did okay and was presumably not on much of a wage. He was a Cook’s Plan B - “Amman! Amman! Warm up!”
Sure, he wasn’t Jack Lester and I never expected him to be playing two divisions higher than us, but he did the job we brought him in for, I think.

Edit: Just realised you were probably referring to Mason Bennett. Fair comment. Pronouns, eh?!

I was gutted for Armand that day. I believe his family had come over from France especially to watch him. Woeful decision by Cook.

I realise you’re not being serious I was just trying to point out that whatever his shortcomings he’s on a very nice little earner.
