I disagree. He was a young, raw unknown brought in on a deal which may or may not have been good for an agency we seemed to have oddly close connections with at the time but gave his all and scored one or two useful goals (Pompey away and a late home winner spring to mind....Sarfend?). He was naive at times, eg giving the ball away cheaply at home v Rochdale leading to their late equaliser, but for a young lad trying to make it in an unfamiliar country where he didn’t speak the language, he did okay and was presumably not on much of a wage. He was a Cook’s Plan B - “Amman! Amman! Warm up!”
Sure, he wasn’t Jack Lester and I never expected him to be playing two divisions higher than us, but he did the job we brought him in for, I think.
Edit: Just realised you were probably referring to Mason Bennett. Fair comment. Pronouns, eh?!
