Shocker, that one. Right in front of the Kop. How the ref missed it, I'll never know.

Cross street end and I thnk it was just at the time the Brown allegations were coming into the open

We lost 2-1 if I remember right

Signing players we couldn't afford.

Chesterfield fc were the victims of a systematic fraud that saw the protagonist get 4 years in the greybar hotel for.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

My brain remembers being enraged whilst in the Kop, but seems I am mistaken. It was a while after Brown was exposed, though, I thought?

I don't doubt that Brown was a villain who deceived those around him. Brighton had had similarly dodgy owners in the mid-90s but I agree that a large portion of their fans were totally ungrateful for the help given (Fans United etc) during that time.
These go to eleven.

We could have easily afforded them given the (under-reported) attendances we were getting.

Yes of course we were but as a club we still 'cheated'- certainly in the eyes of other clubs- particularly Cardiff, Brighton and Orient who were effected by it all.
And it wasn't of course the fans or players etc it was solely the crook Brown.
(Although still irks thinking about the Town fans who worshipped him at the time - even after it was apparent he was dodgy. Still see some of the fans today at games).
Surprised no one has burnt his house down or whatever since he came out

There are lots in Brighton who would be horrified by the thought of anyone doing that.
These go to eleven.

Someone told me his wife had to shut a shop she had on Whitt Moor after the windows got put through on a regular basis.

I posted his current address on here a while back.

Wonder what he fancies to eat later?

Might play it safe and order him a variety.

Brighton are the only side I wish nothing but continued bad fortune for. Horrible shower of supporters who I despise.
After a midweek game there I stopped someone literally getting their head kicked in, they were on the floor and this bloke had his leg back ready to boot

Unfortunately for you they dont get bad luck and have one of the luckiest owners in the football league, Tony bloom is a genius and if he fell in grimsby docks he would come out with a mouthfull of cod.
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

still can't stand the hypocritical southern bounders!

they were at the forefront of this fans united bull pretending to help other clubs causes when they wanted support for a new ground, yet they wanted us booted from the league when we fell victim to a crook!

They are the epitome of the right on trendy new style football fan

Never forget, never forgive!

You want to try living were I do. When ever I speak to Brighton fans about Chesterfield fans hatred of them, they just look at me with a blank face and haven't got a clue what I'm on about. Then you find out that they have only really been watching Brighton the past couple of years, before that they followed Chelsea!!

I remember when I first moved down to Mid Sussex in the early 90's, you would see more kids in Blackburn shirts (as they had just won the Prem) than Brighton shirts.

The only time I've ever seen anyone with a Blackburn shirt on they've been playing for them.

Exactly- it's a little sad to have a hatred for a team because of 17 years ago!
