Well we've had the best individual CFC goals re dribbles, skill etc..
Well heres my favourite screamer/net busters ..totally off the cuff so I've probably missed some..
In no particular order..
Paul Hollands jiggle then volley at home v Blackpool..
Turnbulls screamer away v Rochdale..
Paul Lemon away at Donny..(same day as some sort of festival of speed at the race course were we were drowned in noise and smog in equal levels)
Derek Niven at home v Man City in the League cup..
But the one and only ever winner..Ooh Ooh Tony Lormer's 35 yd scud away at Walsall followed by arguably the best belly flop celebration in the history of the game at any level..EVER..!
I await your rebukes!

Ridehalgh powered in a dipping volley at home against Bournemouth in the league 1 season. That was out the top draw.

Allott's against Brentford after we'd been relegated. Cracked it in from 25-30 yards.

Drew Talbot against Burton when we were last there I think. A goal worthy of winning any game, think he cut in from the left and let fly into the far corner.

Bowery laced one in from 25 yards away at Stevenage, that was always drifting away from the keeper into the far corner, when we threw away a 2 goal lead there. That did shake the back of the net.

Will probably think of a few more when I'm more awake.

Brendon Maloney vs Hereford (4-0)

Who can remember Mark Williams scoring an absolute belter vs Shrewsbury (his old club) in 1996 i think? i never saw a town player's goal strike the net like that and havent since. it was mad.

from memory he either took the freekick from 5 yards or it was passed to him

lets not forget Reeves vs Cambridge either (i think) scored all 4 one of them was a flicked up free kick he smashed on the volley...if that was in the prem peoeple would be creaming themselves

Adam Smith at Oldham in the JPT....Mark Allott at Stockport....2 other wonder strikes

Mark Allott away at Stockport one evening. He wasn't even looking at the goal. Just turned and cracked it in from 35 yards on the half volley, i seem to remember.

Sammy Clingan at Hillsborough.

Jamie Burt (remember him?) at home against Barnsley (free kick wasn't it?)

Kev Hurst away at Bristol City.

Tony Lormor's at Walsall has got to be up there though.

I remember the Williams one. I think it bounced to him and he was out on the right wing and just belted it back in from about 40 yards into the far corner. The result was 2-0 I think and Lormor scored the other goal which was another belter from about 25 yards into the top corner. One of my earliest town memories.

Looking back at their goals respectively it's amazing just how many of Jack's goals were from perfect positioning poached near the goal mouth and how many of Craig Davis' were screamers from outside the box.
I just don't know what I'm supposed to be

phil walker in the 7-1 win over Reading; got the ball on the halfway line near the Compton Street touchline took it ten yards forward towards the Kop, looked up and belted it with the inside of his left foot. I was stood directly in line and the ball started out heading for the corner flag but it was curling and dipping viciously. It entered the goal six inches from the bar and six inches from the left hand post. Steve Death didn't have a chance. There was a very strange crowd reaction; silence, then a gasp, and only then did the place erupt. Pure class.

Was right behind the Rotherham net at Millmoor when Allott hammered one into the top corner from outside the box - you knew it was in all the way.

Then, any number of Brian Frear's goals from the edge of the box.

O'Shea has delivered a few from outside the box, as well, just a shame he struggles to do it consistently from inside the area.

it's a real pity games weren't recorded in those days, many wonderful goals have been lost. From memory, only the rotherham and Plymouth games from that era were televised and clips may survive

Geoff Salmons home v Rotherham, Feb 1980.
It has 'have it' written all over it. Think the keeper would have ended up in the net if he had got in the way.
See at about 1.10.

Mark Jules away versus Rotherham in a 1-0 win c. 1996.

Fabulous goal from about 30 yards to the top corner, right near the end of the game
