Harry saying they haven't spend big is a bit like saying Hitler was misunderstood to a Jew

The 15M they spent to get out of L1 wouldn't even register on Harry's Visa Card

You stick a camera and microphone in front of someone on live TV and have to deal with the consequences.

Just like when BT sport stuck a camera and mic in the middle of a pre match Luton huddle and then had to apologise for the language after

Who would have guessed it :windup

How times change. A few years back our poor league 1 side tonked them on their own turf and their was a mini civil war erupting between fans and chairmen as they were planted in the relegation zone. Now they'll be facing the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea on the weekend. No one would have predicted that back then.

Eddie Howe got to be manager of season Well done Eddie

True. And oligarch subsidiary.
To be fair to Bournemouth other clubs have (eg Derby, Blackburn) have thrown a lot more at getting promoted from the Championship, and struggled to complete the job. Plus, although they will be very very well paid, it's good to see that Howe and his club recognise the benefit of using the best of lower league footballers.

But said oligarch's cash thrown at his club is way beyond anything seen before for a club with such a low fanbase.

They've done well to get to the Prem and have a good manager etc but lets not hide from the fact that its taken a big wedge of Russian millions to help them along as well...its not some great small club fairytale as the media would like us believe. Be interesting to see if any FFP stuff comes their way at some point!

Forget the Russian money and celebrate the fact that a decent little club have managed so much.
The most they have spent on a player is £3million.

Wage bill one of smallest in the division.

Speaking of FFP, what happens to the fine QPR refused to pay when they went up to the PL for breaking the FFP rules? When they get relegated they shouldn't be allowed back in the football league IMO.

They were trying to spend more though...had bids of £5m and £6m turned down by Birmingham for Demerai Gray i think it was.

Whilst i appreciate its good to see a different club doing well you cant just forget the Russian millions...if it wasnt for them they would still be languishing in the lower leagues.

I believe in theory whilst they are in the Prem they are under a different body, FA rather than Football League, so they cant be made to pay the fine. If and when they get relegated however it will get messy as i think the FL have said if they dont pay the fine they could refuse permission for them to play in the Football League...what i suspect will happen is some nice happy middle ground will be found where QPR pay a chunk of what they should have.

It did last season, the Russian just threw 8M at them to reduce their debt

I assume the rules are different in the premiership and he'll not get away with it

'Trying' to spend is not really an argument though!

As I have said previously, they have kept a large proportion of the squad from their League 1 days which makes their ascent even more remarkable. True they have added some quality in key areas (Ritchie, Wilson), but its almost as if the Russians billions are regarded as a 'safety net' rather than a licence to just spend for the sake of it.

They are a bit like us but with the addition of a couple of quality strikers!

all this 'small club fairytale' for Bournemouth is nonsense

They have spent loads - they were able to bring in Kenwyn Jones on loan - his wages must be around 40-50k a week for a start!

Wage bill one of the smallest in the division? Rubbish - Eddie Howe is on loads an all

They are nothing different to Wigan, and have simply bought promotion

Jones is on £35k a week, of which Bournemouth are paying 100%, and on top of that they are paying a £600k loan fee!!!

I'm sure I worked out somewhere that their wage bill in league 1 equated to an average of over £10K/player and that was assuming a big squad. They've done well but unless Abramovic fancies getting another CFC up the leagues then we're not in the same continent financially.
