The club has to behave like any business would. No room for sentiment
I'm not privy to what's going in the club, but if the hierarchy feel it's having an impact, they should resolve this ASAP.
If there's no impact, then there's no action to be taken.

Nothing to do with sentiment: all the evidence suggests the best manager of a football team at the club is Paul Cook. To send him home now and replace him with an unknown quantity when he has not, as far as anyone here knows, agreed to join any other team defies logic.

Frankly I can't believe what I've just read.....unbelievable ....

Portsmouth made an approach. The club have declined their request. We move on. Can someone explain to me on what grounds we would put Cook on gardening leave .? .

It seems to me that many on here are just as 'guilty' as Turner for perhaps not engaging brain before implementing mouth / keyboard.

We're in the play offs for a chance of tier 2 football. First realistic opportunity since Cox's tenure and all most folk on here can do is speculate and rumour monger on here about something they frankly know nowt about...

Pathetic.

We can only move on when Cook says he's not interested in talking to Portsmouth, it's not a rumour he hasn't said this

I believe this is a discussion board. Floating ideas and sharing views amongst fans have no bearing on what the club will or won't do.
Most people on here know nowt, and I'm happy to admit I know less than nowt.
Just floating an idea for discussion
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

He was given the opportunity to say that and declined to.

Exactly, not that it should need a question to prompt him to say it

It was a done deal a good while ago, as soon as those bets were placed that brought tho odds in so sharply.

speculate and rumour monger?

well in case you hadn't heard =

Pompey made an approach for our manager.

The odds on him being Pompey boss have fallen from 33/1 to 1/3.

Tweets from Biggs about the interest and about the release clause.

Turner spoke of this as well.

So, if there is any speculation and rumour mongering, you might be best looking elsewhere for the source.

A new hope.

An idea to put the manager on gardening leave for something that he's apparently not said?

1. Heard the interview where he was asked
2. It's obvious had he said it, it would have been reported

Consider that he told the fans just 2 weeks ago, "if you preach loyalty and don't show it yourself there is something wrong with you"

I'm quite aware of what has happened. I think I even make reference to it if you read what I've put. My point is why ramble on about what we know has happened ,something we can do nowt about, some thing that might not even happen when we've got the biggest league games for 35 years coming up and in all likelihood in my opinion Cook will be in charge for those....

He did . I was there. Consider this.... If he totally denies any interest he doesn't have any leverage with DA when it comes to budget negotiations in the summer does he?

Yes, because other clubs will come knocking anyway and those conversations have been had, perhaps you weren't listening as close as me down at the Bridge, there is an outside chance Dave Allen might have a re-think now the inevitable has happened, hence wby I'm prepared to give Cook the benefit of the doubt for now

He may regret those words right now.

I wAs listening quite adequately. Thanks for being patronising. Other clubs will come knocking, it's inevitable. You've totally missed the thrust of my post which was around moving on to the upcoming games etc. perhaps you weren't reading as closely as you might. In reality it seems we're probably on the same page.

That's the only chink of light in terms of him staying for me. An increased budget, a deal done for Jimmy and a rallying call from DA for people to buy STs for another promotion attempt (assuming we don't go up).

Didn't mean to patronise , it's 11 days before the next competitive game and this is about the biggest talking point were going to get, the talk would only be pathetic if Cook was telling us he's staying
