He's not been the only one to go in and thereafter be ignored or worse.

Not everyone is Sir John Harvey-Jones.

I think it's telling that the guy spat the dummy and pulled his sponsorship.

I don't doubt some things at the club could be done better but I think I would get annoyed if random people started coming in telling me how I should be doing my job.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

These are experienced and successful businessman, invited in by someone who is neither of those things. They aren't 'random' people turning up unannounced demanding an audience.

In the case of pulled sponsorship, that was in response to the club going elsewhere for their vehicles.

It does not make any difference at all being at shirebrook the best place for our academy to be would be north of chesterfield being at shirebrook does not entice people from mansfield as you have to go through a process to get in the academy...the facilities at shirebrook are dreadful for academy level.

Bonny,

Has the very decent, experienced and well respected Mark Smith had a promotion? I noticed on a recent interview that his title had changed to Head of Academy Coaching.

Not surprisingly I disagree.

The simple fact that our academy is there highlights to any potential young player a better option than Mansfailed. It’s an area that we would face little competition from in terms of signing players and gives us good exposure in an area that is devoid of footballing inspiration. Having an academy north of chesterfield would have us competing with Sheff Yoo and we wouldn’t have the finances to compete. Given that you think Shirebrook’s facilities are ‘dreadful’ where in the North of Chesterfield would you relocate to?
If only....

I wonder if the facilities at the new multi million pound sports/leisure centre to be built in Unstone will be suitable (affordable)

You're dead right, but you have to remember that moaning and whinging is the default position for a lot of people. You can't moan about Dave Allen because he's responsible for everything we are at the moment, and you can't moan at Paul Cook because he's obviously a top Manager - so that only leaves Chris Turner to have a go at when something might or might not have gone wrong.
Come to think of it, it might be the reason he's there.

We can moan at the board though and that includes the chairman - they are overseeing losses and seem unable to stem the flow. How can the term ' surprise problems coming out of the woodwork' be thrown out when due diligence has been done.

Are the board doing the football thing and not applying business sense to cfc.

God I hate this league.

Yep best chairman and best manager we have ever had.
Only mistake was appointing Chris Turner who has had an appalling record of errors, and goofs.
He's like a poor mans David Brent

It is actually more telling who they do listen to as opposed to who they don't.

I mean come on, it's not like the club courted an individual for 12+ months and had to be told by some random no mark on here, just out for his 15 minutes of fame, that the individual concerned was a wrong 'un, is it?

Best not mention investment & Hartlepool in the same breath either!

Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone at the Club has contacted the company in question seeking advertising, sponsorship or any other form of link-up?

From the boardroom DA
At the beginning of the season some fans were stating that we should have brought in another striker because Eoin Doyle was not the man to get us 20 goals.Well that proved to be a negative thought. He actually scored 25 goals in just half a season and when we sold him for a good fee to Cardiff city, the samepeople were complaining that we should of kept him till the end of the season if we were to have any chance of going up a league.
My message to these doom and gloom merchants is have faith and try to have a glass half full and not half empty.
Changes at the club that have been made over the last two to three years have all been beneficial to the club.

To those of you who were at the last home game, when we scored six and could of had ten,I reckon you probably witnessed the best game of football played at this stadium .I call it attractive, attacking football,it gets fans on the edge of there seats.

I would once again like to mention the progress made by our youth team this season. They are our future and it is a policy which over the next few years will ensure we have a conveyor belt of talent.

This years player of the year awards night promises to be the biggest and best ever with around 500 people in attendance.
All we are concerned about at this moment in time is trying to achieve promotion so get behind the team .Lets just hope we make the play offs and progress to another day out at Wembley.

Hey,you've never had it so good.

Or it could be that people trust DA's judgement over yours.

Quite a long way over yours, as a matter of fact.
