Is that from the railway station? Would be horrible in bad weather

From the town centre at least, there's a vid of them on you tube being escorted from there

Missed a few then!

Wish they'd taken them back the same way post-match! I hope this isn't going to become standard, I'm not as fit as I was when we last played Mansfield, running back up there to make a quick getaway isn't going to happen.

For this very reason, I've always considered the Away end is at the wrong side of the ground. By being where it is the idiots have to be escorted passed the length of the pitch and passed the Home kop. Whilst it is possible to keep the away fans in the ground until it is safer to let them out this is not the case when those looking for trouble arrive.

If I arrived in a town and police insisted I walked a mile to the stadium in heavy rain and got drenched I would be very angry to say the least!

I have limited experience of away travel by train or supporters bus. I remember being in the cack Village pub in Mansfield before the never to be forgotten 3-sides festival and being herded by police, some on horseback, to the "stadium". It seemed at the time like we had no choice.

I remember back in the early seventies they was a large contingent of us on a service train to York who were met by the Police and marched to the ground. Thing is they was a middle aged couple who were obviously there to see the sights, but no amount of trying to explain they did not want to see a match could extradite them from the procession.

Unfortunately there was no Police presence on the way back to the station, and our fans were met with a hail of rocks, stones and rubble from the city wall, where their fans lay in wait. Luckily they didn't identify us as Town fans.
The trian carriage back looked like the inside of a giant ambulance from a scene in Casulaity; open wounds everywhere.
