Think I’m gonna go on train to Newcastle as Gateshead doesn’t have a station but I believe you can get on the metro from Newcastle to Gateshead and it’s just 3 miles away.
Would be good to see a big following up there having a few beers in Newcastle beforehand as well with it being bank holiday. I wouldn’t mind this being the game where we mathematically secure our safety, although obviously I’d take it if it happened well before then.
There’ll be a bit of edge as well as I can’t imagine Scotty Boden is very popular in those parts at the moment.

What did you do to get that price mate, price I saw from up
here was £31 and I’m 40 mile closer than you lads coming from town?
Is it straight through from town? I’ve got to change at Leeds which is a bit of a pain.
Was just having a look if Newcastle are at home but they play on the Saturday

Chesterfield to York advance single. York to Newcastle advance single. And the same back obviously. Actually it was £32.
There are several apps and websites which will work out any split savings possible.
It ought not be possible. The fact you can do it shames the train operators.

Anywhere in Newcastle to Gateshead Stadium takes about 5 minutes, and if you have to wait as long as that for a train it's probably a first.
Britain's best kept secret, Newcastle Metro. Forget that overcrowded Mickey Mouse outfit down south.

Not sure the population of Newcastle goes up by 8m on a working day but otherwise a really sensible comparison...
Manchester’s tramway would have been a more reasonable comparator...

It's pretty good but it would be better if the metro actually went to the metro centre and the rugby ground. It's great for st James's, the mackems ground and not bad for Gateshead away. You just need to double back through the housing estate named after famous athletes.
Very cheap though. You can zip about all over the place on a day ticket. Just not the bits in the south west.

I hope for your sake and all others travelling to Gateshead that there isn't a monster following. Safe journey.
