I'm not convinced that we'd get 5,600 in the same position. I think that's a damn good turn out from them personally. Credit where it's due.

They're 3rd in the table, under both Sheridan and Cook when we were in that position we got more. In fact as a slight comparison 8 years ago yesterday we beat Rotherham 5-0 on Sky and their was over 10000 in the ground and about 8000 of those were home fans i think.

No more has beens please. I've totally had enough of the SEB's , COG's, and MAF's thank you very much. Much prefer a hungry youngster who wants to move up to League status asap.

Bitter experience, eh? Trouble is, they all looked good signings at the time and caused a bit of a buzz, which never does any harm.
You could ague that SEB's 10 goals(?) kept us up that season, but really he was a bitter disappointment.
If Shez can find a big name who appreciates the difficulties down here and doesn't think he's coming to tear the league apart, I wouldn't be agin' it, if only for that buzz factor, but I doubt such a creature exists.
Main thing is a bit of pace, which to the oldies is a distant memory.

Look mate - I’m begging you now - ditch that avatar FGS. You make some good points and it’s always in my eyes undermined by that ridiculous smirking turd that gives me the shivers every time I see it. And the MA catchphrase to boot ain’t doing you any favours. Is it on purpose? And if so, for what purpose?

Anyway, here’s a substitute avatar that I’d rather have -

Changed it just for you x

To be honest I don't post that often so I forgot I still had it.

My bitter experience started with the way past it Bill Curry, and was reinforced by the signing of Jason Lee, even before SEB and MAF . Hence my post on the news we had signed COG:(recalling Norton Lea, rather than Duncan, signing Lee).
On the face of it, looks a good, nay, excellent signing.
One small niggle, I would have preferred Gary Caldwell extolling COG's virtues, rather than an Assay Officer. Hopefully we will soon see GC offering more than his standard forced smile when it's time for the photo shoot of the shaking of hands.

I suspect if Davies looks back on his career his best returns was when he was under Sheridan here then for a spell shortly after that. If he's fit then Sheridan may think he can get the best out of him again and Davies may want to work under Sheridan again. He'd hardly been prolific when Sheridan signed him first time around and i think some on here probably questioned the signing at the time.

I’d certainly question it if we signed him again

We’d get a lot more than that in the same position

547 away fans so similar home crowd but Portsmouth were 19th in table. Mansfield were in a local derby with both teams flying. Our game with Rotherham is a fairer comparison
