We'd be an attractive move for many of them, especially if DA stumps up the readies. Maybe RGS could ask Shez this, without naming any players obviously.

In my opinion the Anwser would 100% be yes.

I think you missed wedgbury who will be here next season and ugwu who won't. I think the recruitment should be along the lines of signing 11 first team starters and anyone who is here will need to fight for the right to break into that team, some of the players we will have left will be able to do this but not all in my opinion.

also shaw? is he in or out of contract? can't remember

Forgot about Shaw, squad player?

Going off on a tangent, are we safe yet? I know mathematically we aren't, but Braintree and Maidstone are as good as down. Aldershot need a miracle. So that just leaves one relegation spot remaining. On yesterdays performance, I can't see H&W wining many more games.

For us to get relegated from this position, it would have to be a complete disaster. We’d have to lose majority and H&W would need Promotion form. It won’t happen.

It won’t happen but the sooner we reach the point where it can’t happen the better.

I’m sure we’ll be debating this until August but I thought I’d add my early ramblings:

Jalal
LWB signing
Maguire
Evans
CB signing
RWB signing
Smith
Rowley
Carter
Striker signing
Boden

Retained squad players
Wier
Denton

Definitely released
JBW
Barry
Weston
Anyon
Reid
G Smith
Ugwu
Wakefield
Dodds
Fortune

Out on loan
Rawson
Amantchi

I’m sure I’ve missed someone obvious.

Jamie Sharman signed a contract I'm sure, before getting injured, but is making progress to return. Thought he was quite good. And is Nelson our player too? Although I really hope his contract is up at end of June like some of the others.

The contract statuses are on a pinned topic on this board. Weir and Nelson have deals expiring in summer, Denton and Sharman beyond then.
These go to eleven.

Out of interest, have any opponents caught the eye of this board's members and considered to be the right players to occupy key positions to be improved upon for next season such as -

Goalkeeper
Right Wing Back
Right sided Centre Back
Left sided Centre Back
Left Wing Back
Defensive Midfielder
Goal Scoring Striker to partner Boden

I thought the young LB at Braintree looked like one with a decent future ahead of him, only young, 19 or 20.
A new hope.

We'd be an attractive move for players from our league and lower. It's a big ask for players even from L2 to drop down to this level, because they know it isn't going to be easy to get out again.
I think we should view Shez's signings in that light.

James Comley for Maidenhead looked like the sort of robust midfielder we lack.
As for a keeper, do you reckon the lad at Ebbsfleet would be interested in joining us?
These go to eleven.

There could be a lot of players out of work from higher league clubs but, I agree, their first choice might be to stay in league football. Having said that, money talks and I think financially we will be able to compete with a fair few league 2 clubs. It could be a waiting game to be able to attract league players but as time runs out for offers the mortgage needs paying.

I do believe there are some decent players who will be out of contract at this level and again we should be quite attractive to these. If, for instance, we could take the best player for the required positions from clubs in this league would that do the trick and who are they?

Must admit our home performances have been so poor that we might have made certain players look better than they really are or they could have risen to the occasion because of the nature of our stadium. We've not troubled too many keepers for them to leave a lasting impression but up front Paul McCallum or Danny Rowe could prove useful as a partner for Boden and Kosylo of Halifax looked useful out wide however I can't remember many other players that have individually stood out.

I’d be surprised if Barry isn’t here unless he wants to leave

Kosylo and Rowe have been linked with us before, though I don't know if it was just rumour. Both top performers at this level.
These go to eleven.

The Ebbsfleet keeper caught everyone’s eye, but not for the right reasons

Seems to me there's some weird thinking going on on this thread. The squad is in promotion form yet everybody wants a total clear out to get to some unknown utopia. Should the defence be kept together? Course it should, so if Yarney and Hollis are available, get 'em. Weston is a first pick by both managers for a reason. Keep him. In my opinion hardly any players from other sides have stood out as better than ours. I'd dispense with squad players and Denton, then do a bit of smart acquisition in a couple of key positions.
