I wondered about that. I assumed he'd played for them once, otherwise it was very odd.

My guess is that he's been told by more than 1 manager that he'd be a league player if he scored more goals, maybe 6 or 7 a season. He's crud as a LB but he is a threat, albeit inconsistent, further forrad. He's put in some great crosses lately.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Yes he was in a central position, and the shot didn't go in right by the post, so it was certainly saveable. Jalal set himself and planted his feet as if he thought the bloke was going to run further, and he just didn't expect the shot so early.

He was probably in the right then. That bloke could have been in the away end before anybody condescended to tackle him.

As he lost his form again. He’s certainly not on the top of his game looking at goals conceded in last two matches.

Direct from a corner - I’ll say no more.

I don't think it is too dramatic to say that Jalal got us three points yesterday.

He pulled off two absolute top class saves which could otherwise have put us right in the mire.

The corner sailed in on the wind so it might have looked worse than it actually was.

I wasn't that impressed with him at Bromley but he certainly deserves some credit from yesterday.

Horrendous wind assisted goal yesterday, however Jalal more than made up for it in the 2nd half with a stunning double save and good block with his legs in the last mins. Well done Blues that is the win which has surely seen us safe now. Well done Shezza and co.

Sorry I forgot on Bobs Board thou shall not criticise. All keepers make mistake I fully understand.

All I am saying is that Jalal hasn’t been playing great at the present time.

He's a very fine Shwan indeed, as Danny Kaye might have sung

I mean the fact that all keepers make mistakes doesn't make him exempt if he's making em more than he should (and it sounds like he's had a few cock ups lately). But if he's doing enough good stuff to make up for it then we can't get too picky at this level, they're National league keepers because they're prone to more mistakes.
I just don't know what I'm supposed to be

I think Jalal is a solid keeper, would you rather Anyon go in goal...

All I am saying is, as with every player, don't just look for every mistake look at their over all contribution - Saturday was a prime example as far as Jalal is concerned.

Right then here we go. The verdict:

Firstly didn’t go but watched the game from the warmth and comfort of my living room.

Excellent result and that is what matters at this stage of the season. 1 more win and we’re save - thank god and not Martin Allen.

In terms of the performance I have to say I wasn’t very impressed. First half although leading I thought very poor with Sutton being the better side. Goals change games second half better but far from convincing.

A few players observations.

Jalal - Didn’t have that much to do but still gives me the kittens.

Yarney - shocking one of the worst fullbacks I have seen. Dreadfull.

Evans - Solid and I like him.

Hollis - I thought did ok.

Chapman - People have been raving on about him but again I was very disappointed. Crossing in particular was terrible.

Smith- Never a fullback.

Carter & Rowley - Sorry but as others have said - I don’t think you can play both in same side.

McGuire- people have been raving about his performance. Very early days and the jury is still out for me.

Denton - Get good crosses into the box and he will score. Handfull and I will be very disappointed if Sheridan lets him go.

Boden - class finish and he has made the difference between going down and going down.

Subs - will all be released at end of season.

That just about covers it.

Walton

I reckon I’ve seen him play about 8/9 times now, and he’s a good keeper. Probably the best we’ve had since Tommy. Can’t fault him and his record speaks for himself.

At this level he's a very good keeper- second only to Evans IMO. 😀

Would have liked Stuckman to have stayed. Good shot stopper and brilliant penalty saver.
