Is this subject in the top 5, 10, 25, 50 or even 100 things at the heart of fans' discontent?

Graham Bean may well be doing his best, but I can think of 1,001 subjects where he would be better focussing his efforts.

For me it is an exercise in generating popularity.

Crikey! 1001 subjects??

I really think I'd struggle to come up with a list that long despite everything and bearing in mind Mr Bean can only work on trying to improve things for the future and cannot rectify historic mistakes..

I went to the supporters bar at Fylde on Saturday.
Wow just wow they've done a fantastic job there.

That's what a clubs supporters bar should be like,
Good food good choice of drinks at the right price comfortable seating loads of tv's plus an outside area weather permitting.

Can't think of anything I didn't like as they even have waitresses table service bringing you your food and drinks!

We should have had this kind of bar built within the stadium originally yrs ago.

I can just imagine what it would be like at town if drunken away fans came in singing. Carnage

But that set up is not for use once a fortnight - not a supporters bar as such looking at the cost of the build, it's open on a sports village site and will pull daily use. Pizza restaurant on 1st floor together with more televisions up there.
God I hate this league.

Where would you have put it Michael when the Hub was part and parcel of the original build. Hope your not going to suggest ground floor of the hub adjacent to Tesco.

Comes back to use outside of match days and would it get used? Pubs are struggling on Whitt moor so would this be different? Would folk go down and use it for things like England games or stick with their locals? Something like what Fylde have is going to need a lot more use than 23 times we’re at home in the league plus the odd home cup games.

Well two companies believed there's enough demand to invest in the Spireite/Glassworks only across the road whilst the Donkey Derby recently underwent a refit that won't have come cheap.

As did the Crown and Anchor not too long ago.

And hasn't the Beer Parlour opened since the new stadium was built?

Truth is Dave Allen missed a trick, and the negativity now associated with the Club allied to folk having established pre-match routines mean that's not gonna change anytime soon...

Come on, the original build plan didn't include dugouts or a store room for the shop, never mind any kind of supporters bar!

Whats now the Glassworks has been through a fair number of incarnations and owners since the ground opened so its obviously not all plain sailing whilst hasnt the crown and anchor changed hands whilst the other pub next to it ended up becoming a chippy! Beer Parlour has opened and seems to do well but its not really the same sort of place that a supporters bar would be and probably does get some weekday business off the back of that.

I would loved to have seen the sort of place Fylde has at the Proact but it would still have the issue of outside of when Town are at home how busy would it be to make it viable and i'm not sure it would be unless it was pushed for events every week as well and then its in competition to an extent with the other lounges etc at the ground.

I'm not suggesting anywhere now! This debate was done to death 6ish? years ago with workable solotions proposed, but intransigence/stubbornness won the day.

Things have changed over 6 years from one pub selling real ale locally (Tup, some may argue Lion as well) to 4/5 (depending on fitness) now within walking distance. With quality on the door step there have to be concerns regarding the logistics of opening a "proper" bar and selling decent ale on a "concourse", temperature control being the major problem ( wind tunnel to sweat box spring to mind) not just just on dispense but during the racking process.
The introduction of curries could be a bit of a solution, in nullifying the discerning drinkers taste buds!!!

We already sell real ale on the concourses dont we with the pop up Brampton Brewery bars that always seem to do well and has tasted fine when i've had it before. I suspect this bar will be no different in that they will just rack up the ale for the one game and thats it.

The photo Nick Johnson posted looks like it may be from that site rather than one he took but it looks rather nice....

Perhaps a home/pub delivery service for NAPM could prove a winner
