I've had a chat with Graham Bean about it, the plan is hopefully to have it open for the Harrogate game on 23rd Feb until the end of the season. The plan is to make it as comfortable as practical with tables, chairs and heating. It will be open from around 1pm until about 2.45 on match days, there will be no access into the rest of the stadium. Graham is hoping to get former and maybe current players to call in to meet fans.

This is part of a series of fans initiaves, later there will be a fans zone as somebody has mentioned and some ticket offers. There will also be a loyalty scheme for our regular away fans so they don't miss out on any games where tickets are in short supply.

We haven’t seen the decor, food and drinks yet so don’t jump to conclusion, could be nice carpets, wooden flooring, art work on the walls, comfy chairs and tables, open fire real ale, fine wines and spirits served in real glass and extensive menu. I personally wait in anticipation

You make it sound like the local masonic hall...

I fear you may be a tad disappointed, and your 105yr old bones may feel the cold.

Okay, maybe my current stance means I won't benefit from any of this, but on this occasion I think we have to applaud the new CEO for at least trying.

Thank goodness for that Christopher - well said.

Hes right in that it needs to be made fairly cosy and there would need to be some hand pumped ale

Is this subject in the top 5, 10, 25, 50 or even 100 things at the heart of fans' discontent?

Graham Bean may well be doing his best, but I can think of 1,001 subjects where he would be better focussing his efforts.

For me it is an exercise in generating popularity.

Given the stand will only get used 2/3 times a season max it makes sense to use it.

Make it two quid a pint and some might get smashed enough to decide to buy a ticket for the game.

Next season it will may be able to stay open and we can all sit in the one stand, won't be enough there to bother with the other 3 if we go down again

They presumably will have to be in possession of a ticket before they are allowed in.

Pity we cant buy the land at the junction of Pottery Lane West and Sheff Rd, and build a new building at least similar to the old Saltergate club. Exeter, Sutton,Barnet have good supporters bars. Don't know how the North Stand will work.

When I read 'Supporters Bar' I go back to the days of the one attached to Saltergate.
Now I have a vision of white plastic patio furniture in the concourse - basically how it is now plus table and chairs.

Am I wrong in thinking it won't be like a proper 'bar' like the Saltergate one?

Saltergate Club
I'd assume they would put plastic garden furniture in there

Anyone fancy having an Iris scan (whoever she is) for a pint out of a plastic pot.

I suspect that as the new facilities at Owlerton are due to open soon, and the work was due to start in June, the stuff will have been skipped a long time ago....

Curry and a choice of real ales will be on offer, according to Nick Johnson on Twitter.
