Moving To W7 Next Season?

You only have to look at teams like Lincoln and Hartlepool who has completely changed their matchday atmospheres. As good as the Kop can be at times there is a lot of people dotted around the ground at home games who stand and sing during away games,W7 would give everyone who wants to sing the option to go and crowd down that end. I personally am all for this idea,I think we could make the technique a fortress and intimidating place to come and visit just like yesterday.

It's the shame the club aren't proactively working with fans on things like this, alot of clubs engage fans groups and give them platforms to create an atmosphere and actively encourage it, ours less so.

It's the future, i've stood on it at Chelsea, Wolves and Liverpool this season and it really makes a difference. It's been slow to take off but will be the norm at a lot of grounds and new builds in the next 10 years or so.
Again - unlikely we'd be at the forefront of any of this but i'd like us to be.

I’d say there’s at least 2 people for every seat, more for big games

We’ll more likely be at the forefront of introducing quiet, sensory seating

Completely rebuilt stand as the current structure was never designed for the different stresses standing and the barriers needs.

I thought the design wasn’t for a complete standing area. safe standing doesn’t increase the capacity , it just gives folk the option to stand rather than sit in their designated space.

Agree 100%
majority of our fans sit all game which is fine but let the singers be all together to create a better atmosphere and stand up,
All the big clubs that have been here all stand to a man

Still need the higher barriers though and the design of the stand doesn’t work for those I thought it’s been said in the past. Not enough strength in the precast steps I suspect for the barriers to take the weight of people on them. Whether that can be sorted without knocking it down and starting again I don’t know.

However, I do feel there are some problems with regard to this working and going through,
First would be that the price of a ticket in the west stand is higher
second is the proximity of the media to W7, however they could be moved.
Final is that the prawn sandwich brigade of the west stand will likely not want the move.

I would be surprised if that was true. Shrewsbury have added safe standing at their ground and that is virtually identical to the technique
