I agree with your sentiment but I'm afraid I don't think the board are prepared to seize the day, this club will never get championship football without having a shrewd gamble at the right time and that does not mean spending big in summer..imo now is the time to take a punt.

It's worth a punt this season because all the top teams are so close in the table, a little bit of squad strengthening and we could be in the playoffs.
Come on Dave you own a dog track and a casino take a gamble.

We wouldn't have taken so many at the £36 or whatever they charge for gold category league games. The prices in the championship would keep out away followings down for the most part.

Spending big equals increased debt! I'd prefer to trade effectively and improve that way.

No ones advocating spending big. Morsey,Raglan,Gardner Gnanduillet all aquired with a relatively low outlay. Personally I think that we wont strengthen at all as our board don't see us as a championship club just a club that yoyos between leagues one and two and people should be happy with how we are now pushing for a play off place and a good cup run we simply don't have the fanbase to push on from here.We have massively increased our revenue streams and our season tickets are amongst the most expensive in the entire football league yet apparently we are losing money perhaps due to appalling way the clubs being run from behind the scenes.

If we do by some amazing fortune make the Championship at the end of this Season, would that mean our 5 year plan that DA drew up, will have been achieved on target.
