Bradford got promoted from the 4th division after their league cup final a couple of seasons ago, it doesn't automatically work that way

True but this leagues a bit different than the bottom tier (with respect to all the bottom league teams) and a cup run like that might just be that bit telling come the end of the year (especially in Sheff U's case, who already have the most games in hand to catch up with).

We only have a chance of the play-offs, in my opinion, if we sell no one and add a couple of match ready players now.

yeh, we are at a crossroads, what happens in the next week could be telling on what happens this season, though I don't think the board will "go for it". Guessing we will just have to live with the loss of Roberts

If we don't sell anyone we'll be lucky to see a single loanee

If we do sell someone we'll be lucky if they're replaced by more than one loanee

Have faith, out CEO said for all to hear, that our squad will be stronger at the end of Jan than it was at the start..that is unequivocal .
At the moment we've lost Boco, so I'm looking foward to see who the new lads are.
East stand second class citizen.

It's telling alright, the money they've made has allowed them to 're-sign Brayford who is probably the best full back in this league now.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!

Thanks for reminding me, I think he also said this would be the case whether we sold or not.

I am now going out for sunday lunch more optimistic,

I expect Bradford and the Urinals to push on now using the cup revenue

We won't get anywhere winning one, losing one. We need to capitalise on the upcoming series of games without Roberts to stand any chance

Yeh I've got so much faith in the man it's unbelievable.I don't see us strengthening with any significance more likely we'll just utilise every last drop from the squad we have

We have no chance of the play offs unless we find a striker with some prescience and aerial ability

I've got every confidence that we'll make the playoffs this year... Probably securing things at rammel lane and forcing them to another year of footballing obscurity that is known as division one (they are way to massive to be playing at that level you know).

Daft as it sounds I'll be disappointed if we don't make the playoffs now from what I've seen from both us and the rest of the division. We certainly are good enough, so why settle for 12th??

Nah, the other way around for me, I'll settle for 12th next season... In the Championship :D

Well a lot has to happen in the transfer window with Roberts being out. We need Talbot at RIGHT MIDFIELD to give us more quality in the opponents half and better balance all round.
God I hate this league.

Yes, I wondered about that, then decided Ern knew what he was talking about. Prescience in football terms means reading the game, or that uncanny knack some players have of knowing where the ball is going next.
So this week's English Vocabulary award goes to Ern, and the trophy passes from Chris Snell, who's held it since time immemorial.
Bit of presence wouldn't come amiss, mind.

Remind me never to post from my phone again, with the typo police about. It's a sad state of affairs when you have to pick up on typos, rather than the message

It was a typo, but Jack had it in abundance

Bit disappointed though,Ern. I thought it was a great bit of wordplay, and spot on. In your place I'd have stuck with it and taken the credit.
But while we've got such a fine word in front of us, I thought Mark Allott had a lot of it.

Most clubs in the country won't want to let anyone out on loan who has those kind of qualities

I'd expect any loan signing to be below-average/mediocre compared to what we have now
