Well played.
We (CFC) interviewed people for the managers job for the first time in God knows how many decades.
I believe that you chose the correct manager for us.
You managed to stop any leak coming out of the club, you built up anticipation for the new manager, to top it all off you managed to throw the curve ball of Tony Mowbray the day before the press conference. I have been supporting this club for over thirty years and have never been so intrigued about a managerial appointment that it made me wait for you both to pull up outside the ground. (Early dinner).

Fantastic PR.
Fantastic appointment.

Nice one. Keep up the good work.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

He will start to impress me when he stops fannying about inventing stories and his 'look at me, look at me posts' and concentrates on getting our huge debt under control. Something that they were supposed to be doing when they first took over from Barry, instead they will soon have doubled it!

When you've done this Ashley, you'll have won me round, until then I will stay very sceptical and with very good reason!

Eh? Did you miss the great big long thread about Gary Caldwell? Not exactly a mystery :)

But i agree with your sentiments about the process however. Much more professional it seems. But then again, Chris Turner might not have been involved that much hence the smooth running of the process.

As Brian Clough told Roy McFarland on his first day in management: 'It's all about results'.

And that's a Clough story we can actually believe 'cos it didn't come from Saunders.

Exactly, thought the panto season was over. It's all been very cheesy for me, a bit like the cringeworthy love in, like on the Facebook group. Does any one else get the feeling it's all been a bit for his entertainment.

He'll impress me and tempt me back when he gets rid of Turner

What does Turner do every day?
Ashley Carson has a proper job and does a hell of a lot for town to give him his credit.

Turner is like some sort of care in the community surely

I think CT is now in his best role DOF.
He's good at securing players identified by previous managers.
Hiring and firing selected managers.
But he's certainly no CEO. But then again, he didn't put himself as CEO did he!
Let's get behind the board, the manager and team now, we all need to be positive, to try everything we can to stay in this league.

A poster on here described Turner as a lightning conductor, quite apt.

You'll never please everybody Ashley.

What some people love others will criticise. Some want more openness but when they get it some will find it's not right for them.

However, thanks for trying Ashley and let's hope Gary gives us new found optimism, keeps us up this year and moves us on next season whilst playing attractive football.

I'll stand corrected, but wasn't that DA who put the bonus up?

Now just get rid of CT and sort out some wealthy buyers and we might just let you stay!

We'll forget it was this exec who dispensed with that format.
God I hate this league.

It was nothing to do with contracts.
DA's own incentive if I'm not mistaken. Plus DA, I would have thought, would have to sanction contracts?
Wouldn't anyone, if it was their business?

They've pulled enough tricks and stunts between them to have started their own cabaret show.

Treat us like mugs and what do you expect?
Get the dept under control and I will be less cynical.
Start to behave like professional businessmen and I'll be less cynical.
Stop playing the tricks, stunts and fabricated stories and I'll be less cynical.
Treat the long serving real hero's of our club with the respect they deserve and I'll be less cynical.
Make the fans feel a part of the club again and I'll be less cynical.
Give us something (anything) to be proud of again and I'll be less cynical.
They made the club financially unstable (despite the team doing fantastically and selling millions of pounds worth in players) what do you expect?

It's really not rocket science is it?

Had a few disagreements with Ashley on here but I've been impressed with his recent efforts to try and build bridges with the supporters.
If only....
