Dinaga is the obvious one but he is a Burton player. They have some very tidy players though, Green and Cribley to name two

But to put it another way, one or two of our younger players might just about make their first team bench and I am afraid JB is not one of them.

4-2 flattered us although Angel looked very good in possession and actually went to ground in tackle.

Didn't see Caldwell in dugout but I'm sure I passed him when I was coming out the bar at H/T. Think he was looking for the function room or bogs

It was the bogs, came in as I was leaving, he sat at the back of the stand next to CT, good to see him leave him enjoying the hospitality and come out alone for the start of the second half

Because at least half that side wouldn't get in Matlock's team

Total stink back 4 and abysmal young keeper. The kid at right back won't sleep well tonight.

Talking to a couple of Matlock supporters. They asked if our No10 was SEB.
They were saying that he wouldn't even get in their side.
There was only Beesley who looked like a professional football player on that pitch tonight. I knew we were in a dire position with our lack of strength in depth but tonight just highlighted how dire it truly is. Mr Caldwell has got a job & half on his hands here.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

This is wor I thought...
Maguire's usual dominance disappeared for the night. Don't know why but he was slow and indecisive and this affected a very young back 4. It looked like he was playing with flu or summat.
The young goalie made mistakes. Mitchell went AWOL. Beasley missed a couple of sitters. Simons kept making power runs and then fluffing the end product.

Angel did well. You could see he kept pushing himself even late in the game to get his stamina up. He looked nearly ready to me.
SEB played enthusiastically, held the ball up well, scored a very good goal, and could be seen trying to get the young uns playing. He showed willing for Caldwell.

Spot on. Impressed with SEB and Angel. Angel second half came into his own as his confidence grew. These two back to full fitness will add a bit of quality on the ball to the first team.

Sounds pretty grim but at least the two most senior players aided their respective rehabilitations.

Angel looked as fit as any other player on the pitch. He stepped up the pace of his game.

SEB is physically rehabilitated. Gaz has just got to get him right in t'head. I think it was obvious from his performance last night that he has figured out that he has everything to gain by trying to impress.

It's just occurred to me that German didn't turn out for either team on Tuesday. Anybody know what's up with him?

How close to first team action would you say Angel is?

good question!

You'd imagine if the rumoured 'big clubs' were still watching him, he'd be in the shop window every week.

And to be fair that should all Caldwell will be looking at at the moment I would think

Needs must and our position towards the bottom of League 1 is the main concern now

Looking at whether we have promising youngsters coming through is for later
