Paul Cook aside......our previous managers were all part of the 'old boys network'......something we need to avoid.........in my opinion

I can see where you are going but can you imagine the reaction if we appointed Paul Cox?

It would be okay if he could return us to the magic days of King Arthur Cox.

good god there are some horrors on those bookies lists, it's almost like a who's who of people i never want managing the team - ince, curle, jones, moore, adkins, jackett, mowbray, carver even B****Y Saunders again.

I don't find the list very inspiring to be honest, cowley is quite interesting, and i always liked chris powell and les Ferdinand. the oddschecker site seems to suggest that mark cooper is a popular bet.

Chris Powell is a good manager.

Any manager who leaves Sam Clucas on the bench to either make a point or because he doesn't suit his system wants broiling in oil before appointing here!

Eyup Fred. Fair point apart from the bit about oil. Thing is, neither us or the slags are likely to have anyone of the quality of Clucas to anguish over in the near future. Our problems are more prosaic. This appointment is a damage limitation exercise. Town dont hold any bargaining chips that might attract another Cook, even if one were out there. The upper end of non-league is the place where we might find someone who has the ambition, the right kind of experience and a bit of realism.

What this thread shows is, what a difficult decision the Club have to make, what suits one doesn't suit everyone

Managers we don't want... step forward Graham Westley (what a blight on the world of football he is)

Paul Cox

Funny as f**k!

In fairness 're Clucas he played him when he thought he'd improve the team's chances, it depended on who else was injured and what team we were playing. He wasn't the strongest of lads, even now you can see how skinny his legs are, he was lucky not to get snapped in half against some of the Neanderthal teams in the conference.

In saying that Coxy didn't leave him out the side when we last rode into town on that sunny day in September..You had the better team but he still got the win.

I don't think the next time we come to see you that we'll be the underdogs and playing with a back 8 somehow.

Where've you been this last few weeks when you've been getting beat, one win over Crewe and it seems all good!

I've been in the USA Merc.

In the last three games we drew but should have beat league leaders Donny at home, we beat Blackpool away, and destroyed Crewe. Notts County next Saturday...

New signings galore from Evans and plenty of money available for more from Sir John of Radford. It's a whole world away from the misery you have at the moment. Though we know all too well what that feels like

So it's of pure kindheartedness to you beleaguered Spireites that I alert you to the 40/1 available from SkyBet for the Super Stags to get promoted via the playoffs. Absolute value right there.

Cos make no mistake fellas. The Mansfield train is coming....

Is it running on the Robin Hood line - you know, the one that allows travel from the north to the south of the U.K. or, should I say, from Worksop to Nottingham?
