Not now the window is shut...can only sign as a free agent outside the window if you were released\without a club when the window closed. However if said player was released prior to the window shutting having only played for us then he could sign for someone else.

Of course, that is the 'window' of the FA of the singing club.
The Chinese window, for instance, is still open so in theory any Chinese club can still come along and wave daft money at any English based player and he is free to go and play (assuming he's not already played for two clubs this season and his current club accept the deal, obviously).
What do we think the Chinese might make of SEB....

but maybe that performance got him the move to Shrews and we were thankful of any contribution towards his wages, this season?

Think clubs in the middle east can still sign players until the end of the month as well. Remember a few years ago Sunderland losing Asamoah Gyan after our window had shut when he signed for a club over that way after kicking up a stink to force the move through as they were going to pay him £200k a week to play in a crap league with small crowds! Think he's recently been playing in China getting paid even more somehow!

can't see him being one for the future!
Ideal back up or the wages are right though, a lot of experience in this league and a more legitimate threat to the regular keeper if his form drops, and plenty of knowledge to pass on to the youth keepers.

Aren't we paying Matt duke to do that? And then there is Tommy Lee.
IF Fulton or Allinson did get injured then we can just sign a keeper on an emergency loan deal (assuming TL isn't fit of course) and on,y spend money if we're forced. Even if this guy is cheap, it's money we don't have to spend (unless GC doesn't rate MD of course!!)

I think he's just here to train with us and keep his fitness up. Matt Duke is not registered as a player. It appears that Tommy's 2nd operation was a success and he has started training again, however not diving. Still won't feature until next season, no point in rushing it.
