Do that many people work Friday and have Tuesday off instead? I never have and I don't think I know anyone currently that is having Tuesday off instead of Friday.

Vast majority of folk i know are off tomorrow not Tuesday and i suspect this is pretty much the same for all folk. You will have your retail type staff that will be working but thats no different to a Saturday really. I can remember afternoon games on Good Friday for years so its nothing new out of the blue!

Most FL clubs playing tomorrow, they'll be a good reason for that and it won't just be the extra days rest.

Can't remember when the Good Friday games went out of fashion, must have been a gradual thing

Heard over the weekend that Humphreys has been offered a new contract.

Nowt come out yet then?. Perhaps he's got options..........

Hartlepool are yet to appoint a replacement for Hignett, with Cooper currently taking on first-team duties with help from youth development manager John Hewitson.
However, Cooper has begun the process of highlighting potential candidates.

"I've had conversations and I've got people earmarked," he said. "It's not been as easy as I thought it might be, but that's life."
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

That's very interesting. Humphreys has been great for us this season, done a lot better than what most thought as some thought he was an 'old boys' appointment. At his age, coaching is the next logical step and Hartlepool would be the ideal starting point. Good luck to him no matter what course he chooses. Been a big credit to our club.

Sheffield based though isnt he? I would have thought that after a number of years up there and either finally stopping having to commute\stay up there away from the family or moving them all back this way he wouldnt be overly keen on having to do it all again with regard to a deal that includes coaching.

From their message board (full of loonies) I'm not sure he's welcome back there. That might just be a special subset though ....

He's been superb for us, but he was an old boys signing!

Financially & from a footballing / coaching point of view, I reckon he'd be better off here.
