A win at Dagenham could see us promoted depending on other results.

the only way we wouldn't be up would be if Fleetwood won both their games

correct, though there are people on here who think we should be steamrollering every team in the league and winning every single game

Why is it so bad to have expectation?
Do you not think that we have a team that is capable of winning matches? Maybe you go to watch town with the expectation of us losing (I don't know) but don't go trying to put other supporters down simply because we think that we should be winning matches.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Yet another i'm on my high horse post, I watch Town because I love the club and very proud of where I am from. I expect us to win every match steamrollering every team, that is what I expect but i'm a realist and know that is not what i'm going to get. I expect commitment, passion and effort, as a fan you cannot expect anything more, I am intrigued to know why you watch town and what do you expect from it ?

The days of twee platitudes and excusing failure are over.

Town now possess the stadium, infrastructure, fanbase and squad to progress.

Indeed it's reasonable to say we're a League One outfit in all but name.

I don't see anything wrong with celebrating that fact and raising our aspirations accordingly.

are there? there are people who expect to beat sides in the lower reaches of the division, but every game and every team?
A new hope.

If Yeovil can get to the Championship, there's absolutely no reason we can't. I can see us even getting to the Premier, probably getting relegated straight away, but using the money to solidify ourselves as a solid Championship level club.

Personally, I'd settle for League 1 consolidation.

correct, nothing wrong with sky high aspirations - it's the unrealistic expectations of some that are ridiculous. Spitting the dummy out of the pram after drawing at home in a game we played well in and thoroughly deserved to win is very silly, it is beyond arrogant.

Town are, by far, the best side in this league and will do well in league one next season but we cannot win every game and will get unlucky results/bad decisions etc. The players have to battle every week to earn the right to play their football and they have consistently done so this season - so much so that we haven't dropped out of the top three all season.

The OTT criticisms from the mouthy few every time we drop a point were rightly slated by the manager who has a far better perspective and knowledge of how to get the club to where we all want to be.

On what basis are we by far the best side in the league? Our position shows we are currently the third best side, our form since before the Mansfield home defeat shows we are fifth best, behind York, Burton, Rochdale and Scunthorpe.

There's loyalty and belief from the Heart.

I believe the same and also believe Chesterfield should win every game and should have been promoted as Champions by Christmas.

But.....

Reality kicks in and I remember this is Chesterfield FC and if anyone can add a twist to anything Chesterfield can.

I will take promotion even if it means losing to Mansfailed and other bottom feeders along the way.
I will take the odd defeat along the way so long as we learn from it.

Even with the best prepared manager, Infrastructure, ambition and ground it doesn't give us the divine right to win games. (Portsmouth, Plymouth, Oxford, and a few Conference clubs can all hold there own against many League one clubs)

all I can do is hope we win every game but unfortunately even on a good season the only winner is the bookie.

I'm sure everybody will be up for it - we're so close now, I can almost taste it :) We'll have to work very hard as they are fighting for their lives, but we'll be too good for them

And not one of that lot have had to contend with the pressure of being top week in and week out or that visitors to the Proact think they are in heaven and lift their game accordingly.

For instance, Rochdale haven't scored since hitting top and did brilliantly at feel ill on Saturday.

Presumably Leicester and Wolves have been extremely lucky then?

Top spot is a poisoned chalice and everyone who gets there seems to suffer a dip in form. Wouldn't be surprised if title isn't decided until 4.50 on the last day
