Not if past history is to go by, never had a large away following in the past!

They did last time - they sold out. That's perhaps why it's fresh in the mind.

Have we ever played them at the Proact? I can't remember

Has anyone ever worked out (or do we have club figures for) how much revenue comes into the club through the turnsiles is the crowd is 4000, 5000, 6000, etc.?

If it's correct that our budget will be based primarily on gate receipts, how do the figures stack up?

So, is it as simple as you assume the average ticket (after running costs) is £10 and we get 5000, will gate receipts be 5000 x 10 = £50k ish or do factoring corporate tickets, season tickets etc distort the picture so a flat comparison basis doesn't work?

DA and Gary Cook know exactly what the revenues are against each variable attendance and Mid week v Sats and they equate it to Pounds per Head.

They use this when they set their budgets for the season.

The only time DA/GC were out was for the opening season at the B2Net as they estimated £1.5M turnover and that was smashed just after Christmas. That season I heard an average of £3.20 per person was spent on the Concourses but I wasn't sure if that was on one game or in one month.

Look at the teams who have brought good followings this season, Exeter, Torquay, Hartlepool to name a few !!!
Surely next season the away end can't be as sparsely populated as it has on as many occasions as it has this season.

You're old enough to remember the best team I have ever seen - the Holland team in the 1974 world cup. They were brilliant, very skilful, total football, totally entertaining. I;ve never seen better in well over 40 years watching football - but according to your argument the pedestrian, lacklustre W Germany team that very luckily beat them in the final was a better team as 'there can be no other indicator'

I'm sorry, I totally disagree with you. (You're not John Duncan are you?)

Holland played the better football but weren't the best team

Yeh I remember that year very well. Before a ball was kicked I backed the krauts as I thought they were a strong team with Gerd Muller etc in the team etc. However as the competition progressed, and I saw how the Dutch played such lovely football the way it should be played, I genuinely would not have moaned if they had won the final. I remember my mum and dad wanting them to win big time. It took me a while to collect my winnings as it felt like dirty money. Next morning if I remember! - lol.
