Ayup again Mark.

Okay, re-read your post you're being your usual fair minded self. Apologies for overreacting to the mod's stuff and getting personal (by the way, we're as one regarding reporting folk. I've a thick skin, not to mention a 'live by the sword' kinda attitude, but when there's obvious trolling - and I think posting smears and lies whilst refusing numerous offers to discuss differences in private is pretty much the dictionary definition - what other choice do we have?).

You wanna continue accusing me of forcing opinions on others? No problem, pal. However I'll continue reminding you this is a grown up forum where grown ups debate grown up issues in a grown up manner (well, most of the time, anyway). Besides, me and 'Mr M' are old jousting partners. Jousting all done whilst being friends off the forum, too.

And hey, we all have issues we're passionate about, don't we. I mean, how many times have you trashed CBC over the Tapton House thing, for example?

Lineker's 'tweet'? No idea what was said. Heard nowt on any mainstream platforms, infact. I'm guessing it's just another occasion the usual suspects have sought to peddle anti-woak hysteria and/or vilify a bloke who's merely expressed progressive views. Which I did reference in the reply which's got certain pants into permutations, of course.

Anyway, I look forward to many more exchanges knowing we'll shake hands regardless whenever we meet. Now, a few paragraphs about those tories...

Just a quick reply mate before off to have a few drinks with some old friends. But the ones having a go at Lineker are the ones usually fully on his side, the woke brigade if you like, he made a totally innocent comment re Chloe Kelly’s celebration and now he’s being called a misogynist and sexist but not by those who you’d expect but vilified by those who hang onto his every word.

Yeah, that's great

It's WOKE not woak. Just like in fact, is two words, not one.

Here....bored stupid of you going on about this; especially, when the definition has been around for so long and you are fully aware of how it's used by both sides of the argument.

Woke was officially added into the Oxford English Dictionary as an adjective in June 2017.

The dictionary defines it as “originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice”.

The Urban Dictionary, which published its original definition two years prior to the official dictionary, defines it as “being woke means being aware… knowing what’s going on in the community (related to racism and social injustice)”.

In other words, it means to be awake to sensitive social issues, such as racism.

However, the term is also used as sarcastically, to mock or infantilise supporters (so-called, because most of them are virtue signallers) of those movements.

Well yet again side-stepping the personal stuff >wry chuckle<, thank you.

Finally, a credible explanation of what 'woak' or 'woke' or however anyone wants to spell it really means.

That's all I was asking for.

So, "well informed"? "Aware"? "Alert to racism, social discrimination and injustice"? Okay, my kids might argue with the "up to date" bit, but I'll happily take all that.

Infact what does it say about those who're anti-woak? Who by logical extension must be pig ignorant and against combating racism, social discrimination and injustice?

Maybe your next mission (should you choose to accept it) is to tell us what dictionary definition describes that kinda person...

I actually think the Woke definition given above is, well, the Woke definition!

Let me just get this straight, you’re comparing the number of posts I’ve made trashing CBC in regard to them selling Tapton House to the number of posts you made trashing the Tories.

I’ve post 4 (four).

This has to be another of your tongue in cheek comments.

Does that four posts trashing CBC include ones on the main forum when discussing the proposed training pitch?

Y'know, the main forum you've often complained should be politics free?

But no, come on Mark, stop being so pedantic. My point I'm sure you're fully aware of is we all have issues which get our underwear into undulations...
