I would settle for 7 more of them!
In control for the first & the second half until we made changes....but the perfect time to score.

Didn't think it was that scrappy until all those subs were made

I thought we had the under real pressure for the first time in the game just before the first one

For scrappy you could substitute tedious or boring.

We just started to apply pressure then the substitutions sucked the life out of us again.

Dreadful game. Fantastic results.

I thought Walsall were there for the taking to be fair dont think they would have scored if Tommy had gone home but didnt think we would have either, a win is a win

We dominated them home and away. They scraped a win at home, so have we. Home support was flat today. Walsall's home support was as quiet as the grave.

Walsall have a well organised defence from what I saw in both games against us, but they look a very boring side.

A dreadful match, spent most of the time talking to my mate next to me about forthcoming summer holidays and who might replace Dermot!

3 points, a real bonus. Funny ole game!

Don't mind winning ugly if we score early not have to wait 86 mins being bored silly.Funny enough the last 5mins was the most enjoyable especially when we took the ball to the corner to waste time.

I detest that stuff. The sad thing is that it makes some kind of sense, but if you've got a corner you should be pressing home the attack and looking for more goals. Can't do with the negative stuff - it's no better than the cheating ball-boys of Peterborough.

That's just what I said to the guy sitting alongside me I cant believe we wasting time with 5mins left instead of going for the second goal to kill the game as we have the momentum up.

Sorry, didn't realise you liked to watch heaving and pushing by the corner flag.
Have you tried rugby?

I don't like getting caught out on the break while trying to get another goal in the dying minutes of the game.

I thought we did a thoroughly proffessional job after we scored. We closed the game out.

What time did we waste at the end! Frankly we just gave the ball back to Walsall. Preparing for and taking a proper corner kick would probably have taken up more seconds.

I wonder if a study has ever been undertaken as to the benefit of attempting to play 'keep the ball' versus continue as normal when it comes to corners for a winning side. Certaiinly when we try it, we always seem turn the ball over to the opposition very quickly.

The whole afternoon had a very end of season feel to it.

Low key game, low key atmosphere (other than some bizarre songs from our midland guests; do a club ten times larger like Wolves sing about the Saddlers? What was that stuff about Shrewsbury, too? And the IRA and ISIS? Blimey, those Walsall fans really do have some issues to deal with!) and a low key performance.

Even if we were in comfortable control for most of the ninety.

I thought it had nil-nil written all over it until we scored from a set piece (honestly - it's true!), especially as the introduction of Dieseruvwe, Harrison and Ariyibi seemed to lessen our threat. Clearly all three have work to do if they're to bridge the gap between potential and delivery.

Is L1 a great deal weaker than four years ago or has our own bar been considerably raised?

Either way that sixth place is still tantalisingly within reach regardless of how convincing we appear.

Oh, and PS: terrific to see a competent ref for a change. Well done Kevin Friend.
