The installation to recognise that our Club played for 139 years at the New Recreation Ground, Saltergate has been completed.
The artwork is in three parts: a wrought iron railing suggesting the ground and the crowd for the last ever game and a complimentary tree guard, a series of bronze castings in the floor that show the ephemera left behind after a match, and a series of films prompted by QR codes that give a context for the bronze plaques. The films will be developed fully as part of a wider heritage project.
The artwork is on the paved area at the corner of Saltergate and Compton Street.
I am pleased that the design was prompted by supporter consultation and all the images came from the Trust's heritage collection.
