Here's my twopenneth: (I'm in the West stand, C2/C3 entrance)
I used the concourses a lot when the stadium first opened and I was prepared to queue (for longer than I thought necessary) as I wanted the club to benefit from my money. Now the novelty has worn off, I don't bother using the kiosks especially at half-time as it still takes far too long to get served as by the time you have your pint/pie they've kicked off. Having said that, I sometimes manage to squeeze a pint of Brampton at half-time as the lady there is quite organised in 'pulling pints'.
What would encourage to use the kiosks more?
1) better choice of beer (I'm not a Carlesberg/Worthington mass-produced beer drinker). We have a good selection of local beers ie Brampton, RAW etc. Note The BeerParlour is doing a roaring trade in real-ales, therefore confirmation the demand is there.
2. Quicker service i.e. somebody pulling pints and building up a stock, that can then be handed to server as required. They had this organised at The iPRO very well. I understand the need to avoid waste, so some trial & error may be needed to get the 'through-put' right. Same goes for coffees & tea - it takes too long, so why not get some prepared ahead of the rush.
3. Food/confectionary, pies are ok, but service is to slow.
You can see there is a common criticism here - slow service... If we can fix this, I'm sure the club would sell more. So how to fix it? I've offered some ideas above, maybe another is what they do at the Winding Wheel, you pre-order, get a ticket and collect at half-time?
And here is the $64m question:
Q. What would get me to come to The Proact earlier and spend my beer money there?
A. You know the answer.....
A SUPPORTERS BAR!!!
