Just did a bit of research to check out the facts.I agree with you regarding the unsustainable business model and I'm still hoping Wigan can mount a comeback and send them back down.Nothing would please me more.

http://www.rothbiz.c...-rotherham.html

The last balance sheet filed (31 Dec 2013) for RU Estates Limited, which owns the stadium, shows:
Assets £16.6M
Debtors £270k

Bank loans over 1 year £1.9M
Creditors over 1 year £11.9M(Stewart and pals presumably)
Creditors under 1 year £3M.

The football club's accounts show very little assets, and a loss of £477k.

After 20 games this is where we stand.

Average for this season so far 6,810. (20 games)
Average for Saturday games only 7,104. (14 games)
Average for mid-week games only 6,125. (6 games)

Where we are compared with the final average for seasons past:-

2.32% down on season one
4.29% up on season two
25.40% up on season three
7.80% up on season four

Another below average crowd drops the running total down again, it looks like we will not reach the clubs target, barring some outstanding crowds in the remaining games.

What would the crowds have to average in last home games in order to reach a season 7000 ave? (I'm too lazy to do the math)

7,000 x 23 = 161,000

total to date 6,810 x 20 = 136,200

Difference 24,800/3 = 8,266

Assume at best 10,000 vs Bristol City leaves 14,800 for Crewe and Colchester tough ask although if we are still clinging onto play off ambitions and one being Easter Monday you never know

Love your optimism but there's no way we'll get 10k for the Bristol match whether we are in the play offs or not, and circa 7,000 for Colchester is dreamland. We might get 7,000 for Crewe.

Past crowds against Crewe and Colchester.

Season 10 / 11 Crewe 6,047.
Season 11 / 12 Colchester 6,295.

Only played each team once at our new ground.

Depends on Bradford, can't see Crewe bringing more than 200.
God I hate this league.

An ideal game for a school offer - time to get the kids from boza down to the proact
A new hope.

If it's 7500 with a school offer and 1000 are freebies doesn't really make any difference does it?

in the same way that season ticket holders are not counted if they don't go -even though they have bought the ticket.

Has anyone actually said that 7,000 was the breakeven figure for this season?

I recall hearing 7,000 being mentioned as the target for last season, which as we all know now wouldn't have been sufficient.

I think you might be correct, don't recall a specific figure this season just talk about increased away support in L1

One of Turners rambling interviews stated that CFC needed 7000 - he went on to say 7000 against the likes of Rochdale not just Sheff utd....then mention 7500 as a figure and then in the same interview startyed saying he would like 8000....

Whats wrong with saying we need 7000 but would like 8000?

I need £x.xx per month to live and pay my bills. However I would like £10,000 per month.

You seem to scrutinize and dissect every single word that comes out of his mouth (ramblings, it may be) and try to turn it into a negative. He's not a bad bloke you know and I believe he has the interest of the club very close to his heart. Do you ever think you will cut him some slack?

At the AGM, the CEO informed shareholders that every member of staff at the Proact received a pay rise last year, now here we are, less than 12 months on & we're hearing about redundancies, for me it just goes to prove, once again, how out of touch some people are.

On the handful of occasions that I've been in the lounges, all non-match day, I've witnessed a well organised, almost military like, first class operation, a credit to both Gary & the Club. I've no doubt that a redundancy situation does exist at the Club, quite how they've arrived at this decision though, the mind boggles, because all we've heard from the Club is how well the conference & banqueting does!

Now if the Club want to tackle this situation head-on, perhaps it could reveal how much of the £4M wage bill goes on football related staff & how much on non-football staff, I'm sure that will highlight just where the serious savings could be made.

Back to Gary's situation, from the gossip that I've picked up over the past couple of weeks, sadly it wouldn't surprise me if we end up in an employment tribunal.

But surely, Mike if players wage demands increase and agents fees increase the chances of making playing staff redundant is very slim, after all they are the bread and butter of the club. The fan on the terraces won't care how slick the the banqueting side is, they want to see money spent on the playing staff. Redundancies are horrible and I personally feel for anyone facing it but you ask any fan who they would rather see made redundant, commercial staff or playing staff. If the club isn't making enough money to pay everyone surely cuts will have to be made.

I do agree with how good the banqueting staff are, I have been in lots of times and I am thoroughly impressed with how good it is. I see it as a bit of a chicken and egg scenario.

He doesn't care about CFC in the same way that you or I care about CFC.

I think it's dangerous to base a budget in crowd projections that are at (or higher) record levels and I don't think he has a handle on the finances at CFC. If the club trades in the black on day to day basis (excluding player sales) then I would say he has done a good job. If the club loses over £1,000,000 in a promotion and wembley final season alarm bells ring.

In short get things right he gets praise.
A new hope.
