I hope we are not in the queue for more Barnet out of contract players.

After all, they basically had a team of players performing worse than our lot until MA went in to try and save them. Granted they put a few results together towards the end but the season lasts 46 games.

We have released 7 and transfer listed 10 of our underperformers, some of whom MA will not have seen play, and I do wonder if those that underperformed at Barnet for most of the season are, in fact, any better.

Meanwhile, unless I've missed it, we are still awaiting news regarding Rowley, Smith, Brewster and Wakefield.

Additionally, have the youths Rawson, Holmes, Sharman etc been sent on their way or have they still got another year in the youth team?

MA took 13 points from the last 15 available.

He released lots of deadwood upon his appointment at Barnet. He appears to know who and what he needs.

Exactly the art of management is to get players together who work and fight as a TEAM

This might result in players some people have never seen play/heard of but we have to trust MA that he knows what he is doing as regards team building

We are basically in the last chance saloon or the Conference North and oblivion awaits

We do not want any more marquee this player has the biggest contract in CFC history etc nonsense do we?

We’ve signed a player who even Barnet fans aren’t sorry to be seeing leave. But sure, my expectations are too high and I was obviously expecting messi. Christ.

For what it’s worth I think the other signings are fairly solid.

Not buying into this MA style of player announcement. This guy is a champion??? Seriously? When? I thought he just got relegated.

I’m really struggling with the quality of player we’re recruiting, but then i’m really struggling with relegation. I dont want to be negative, i’m normally quite positive, but this is sooo underwhelming

He was a champion when he won the division we will be playing in next season. Just like Jalal.

What quality of player do you expect, we have no money and are now in the National League.
Martin Allen is bringing in proven , experienced players at this level that some have experienced what it takes to win the national league.

I would rather him bring tried and tested and those he can trust than a name that gets us all excited but then fails to deliver.
Curtis Weston a champion 2014/15 at this level
Shwan Jalal a champion 2017/18 at this level

None of the signings are making me jump with joy but I suppose that’s what you get at NL level anyway. And signings I’ve expected to do well in the past have been awful so might as well just see how it all pans out. All my support regardless.

At least none of them are midgets which has been our downfall last couple of years as we haven’t been able to compete physically

Who and how would you like their signings announcing?

Genuine question Norton.

He knows what we were lacking, he know the players from Barnet will do well/lead/battle/perform. No different from Cooky bringing in Robert's and Boco knowing what he could get out of them.

Roberts was a coup. Lots of other clubs wanted him. Very different.

So all last season we had no midfield, no who who was willing or wanted to put a tackle in and some that were just plain idle. Now that's about to change with a manager who knows how to play like this and which players will fight they are now uninspiring 😯😯

Point well made but he’s retained Weir. He wants to put in a tackle but a majority on here don’t like him. Let’s wait and see but I can see why a poster regards the signing of Weston as uninspiring.

Ok, I’m assuming you are serious in asking the question.A lot more professional than,

“This morning we have signed Curtis Weston.

He is a Champion.

Take care,

Martin”

Do you in all seriousness think that is a professional way to announce on an official club website?
personally i’d have liked to know a bit more, why this player? what does he bring to the team that we don’t have? Etc etc. Or has the media team packed up and been sacked too and MA is now in charge of all communications?

I’d expect the kind of communication on the CFC website for a tweet on Sunday pub side

I know its a debate board, people's opinions and all that.

So here is mine.

I have no idea how MA and his players will perform.

I had no idea how Paul Cook and his players would perform.

I had no idea how Gary Caudwell, Jack Lester , Dean Saunders etc etc

Now i appreciate it would be a short thread but

Shall we revisit how good or bad the manager and his players are when we have seen them in action
