Have a look back on the Wiseman thread when he signed.

On the ‘double signing thread’ (Wiseman and Anyon) SpireRam said:
‘My scunny supporting mate rates him highly and can't believe he's dropped to L2. That said he played either RB or RW for them, never CB. So I honestly don't know what GC has planned for our 3 RBs we now have.’
We know what happened next. He either played in a back three or at left back.(mostly).
As for Anyon I posted:
‘88 starts in the last 7 seasons says Anyon is quite comfortable being a bench warmer.’

Jesus! I love this man already....his interviews, his honesty, his passion, the motivation he must give to players.....how he has spoken about the new signings....loves Maguire & will make him the best...hilarious how he spoke about Gozi Ugwu & Dennis.

This really is the next Paul Cook! He joined us with the same passion & look how that turned out.

Within a week MA has won over 90% of the fans & long may it continue

This is going to be a VERY GOOD season, you can feel it.

I like him too but looking at this thread and it's exactly the type of post that were all over this board when Lester first came.
I like the sound of him but I'm not getting too excited just yet
We 8 Mansfield oh we 8 Mansfield!!

I guess the difference is he ‘talks the talk’ but his record shows he ‘walks the walk’ too
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Just listened to the Martin Allen update part 2. Much more relaxed this time. Seems to know what problems we've had and understands exactly why we have all been peed off and appreciates the massive support last season considering our league position. Also he knows that others teams are going to want to come here and 'take our scalp' so be prepared for some tough games. Top work Martin, keep it up.

I think you raise a good point. Football fans appear to be fickle and fall short on having a good memory. For example:

- The first few home games under Dean Saunders generated a lot of positive talk.

- The positivity on here after last summers fans' forum with Gary Caldwell despite us being relegated to division 2 only months earlier.

- Weeks after Jack Lester was appointed, fans were talking of the play offs being achievable.

Take it easy and let us see how we compare once the season starts. Personally, I would settle for a season of stability.

Agree Bowzer. There can't be many managers in any league doing what he's doing at the moment. Bringing a certain charismatic charm with him. Now if he can get the boys playing as good as he's coming across there maybe light at the end of the tunnel yet..

I agree to a certain extent.

The difference this time us that MA is proven at the job he is required to do. Champions in NL and L2 in last 5 years.

Of his predecessors, one was a relegation expert, one won L1 with a Kings ransom and Jack was asked to make a silk purse out of a sow's tab mid-season.

Jack made a two sow's ears out of a sow's ear.

Like i said in a previous thread ive got good vibes for the coming season unless general accident and major disaster manage to cock things up as per.

I'm just a bit impatient waitingto see if we sign a decent replacement for Dennis. Good to see the no hopers German and Brewster being given a free transfer. Was he joking when he said Muggy would be our back up stopper?

It’s a shame this cannot be as easy when it comes to O’Grady.
Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.
