The drug he was taking, Triamcinolone, is also apparently that strong doctors don't recommend more than 1 course a year. Wiggins apparently had 9 courses in four years!, and was still well enough to win the Tour de France and Olympic golds! Absolutely stinks. Like Mr Smith says, anyone else other than GB the press would have been all over it years ago. Thankfully the media are now reporting, also many questions to be answered by other cyclists, swimmers and athletes. It would be very interesting to know how many of these have been asthma suffers all their life or who have been diagnosed in later years by Doctors with links to the sport they participate in!

At least they took some proper drugs or did something illegal. It is worse for Brad as his guilt is presumed rather than actual.
Have Sky played the rules, absolutely. Are they unscrupulous, absolutely. Do they court controversy, absolutely. They have always looked for an edge from day one. Does that mean in this instance Wiggins has cheated? If he had we would know by now.
If you like you sport clean, best avoid push bikes.

Also isn't Laura Trotts husband, elite cyclist Jason Kenny, an asthma sufferer?

But if cycling and team doctors are diagnosing their own team members as asthmatic, then prescribing very powerful drugs which appear extremely potent, have they played by the rules?

Until the rules are changed.
if team sky are falsely claiming their cyclists have asthma so they can claim the tue then they have broken the rules.
the rules need changing as tue are too easy to abuse.
if you have an asthma attack you don't cycle, if that means you miss out on Olympics/tour etc tough.
