McGuire can't play LB adequately but at least Drew can

Not saying that he his but by default any cover won’t be as good as the first choice unless you are Man City (and then they still have to play Delph  )

Getting a decent sized squad is better.

You must be a brain surgeon working that out

Chat with Martin Allen on a number of subjects- New chief exec, planned protests tomorrow, the game itself and a few other bits.

I've also posted our chat with Paul Goodwin who as I'm sure you all know is one of the main organisers behind this weekend's demonstration:

So not quite as 'devastated' as AC suggested :-)

Carson again says 'Meanwhile, Chesterfield FC have sent Peak FM the following statement from director Ashley Carson: "We are concerned that the protest could get out of hand and have therefore made efforts to avert any demonstrations. Unfortunately, unnecessary costs will now be incurred due to the required police presence'. Yet on Paul's thread about the protest he's met with the police and they've actually said there is no extra cost so he's still lying? I know who we all believe

up to now martin's strongest point has been the way he has come across in interviews, however this one is really poor.
1. he talks about NOW being aware of the clubs and players within reach of cfc geographically, well i'm sorry but that to me says he walked in the door last may unprepared and that is downright unprofessional, yes it takes time when you move jobs but that is poor and it has cost us.
2. it seems his lack of prep is also in understanding truly how the fans feel about the club, suggesting that some people will moan about anything is so naiive on his part, we are not going to be appeased by the appointment of a ceo who has a questionable past. there is a deep hurt amongst the fan base that goes beyond the events of the pitch.
3. he thinks we've been better than other teams in this league. SERIOUSLY. now I've not been to every game but the one's I have been to have been highly unimpressive, Aldershot game a side, we've been poor and the league table would back this up.
poor interview martin.

It's been confirmed by the police that there will be NO additional costs... So, seems AC was "mistaken" :)

I assumed that bit was made up. Lucky though he is to still have a job, I'd be pretty annoyed about being pulled into that conservation by AC if I was him.

Only an utter clown would want to be seen siding with the hated club owners over an issue like this.
