Even if we get rid of all the players in the list who are OOC this year (bar Talbot maybe) it gives us sod all wiggle room. :/

Herd won't be on a pittance. Otherwise not much to play with.

The only player really worth keeping at the end of the season out of those that are OOC would be Talbot. I don't think he will be here next year though.

Over to you now Danny. To my mind those still in contract after the end of the current season give us the basis of a decent side. If DA is willing to stand us a couple of strong signings to add to three or four general squad players we could be looking up rather than down. My only worry would be how we replace Super Lee Novak. Here's hoping fellow Spireites!

I'd not renew a single one of those.

Then if the remainder we have to look to offload SEB, Gardner and Banks the worry is we'd have to spend money to get them off the books if no one will match the wages they are getting here.

We also have the money freed up from paying whatever we pay as contribution to Novak's wages.

He'd be the one of the highest wage. If we can get rid of all them (I'd be tempted to give Donahue 12 months if he's really cheap to see if he comes on in his proper role), offload Gardner and SEB, we have the Novak wage, we may be able to get a few in.

Well we are going to have to get at least 8 in if they all go, of what quality we don't know

Problem is this season we had an increased budget due to player sales, will the Novak wage be available to spend? I don't think so

i certainly expect SEB to be transfer listed in the summer, perhaps gardner too.

I'd keep Drew, dependent on the money needed obviously, on the basis he can play a number three positions to a decent level and gives his absolute all.

If Danny thinks he needs more room for manoeuvre and he is surplus to requirements then I'd understand though.

What's the situation with the younger players, for example Maguire, who have yet to play a part in the first team?

Depends where in the youth system they are. It's usually just before or just after the last game of the season that we hear if any 2nd years have been offered contracts.

Thanks Marcia. I hadn't realised that Maguire was not contracted. I think he's a reasonable chance of being one for the future so perhaps he should be.

Chuff me didn't realise that!! They've barely been in the reserves, although Beesley's been injured a lot I think.

Maguire has played every single reserve match.

Beesley's had two injuries and barely played.

I've also read that Tommy Lee is contracted till 2018.

You're right about Tommy, saw he'd signed 2 year contract 2015, but it had missed me that it was an extension from 2016!!!

The club don't announce contract lengths anymore anyway.
