Does anyone know if we are still actively seeking International games from the FA, at any level? I might have missed it but what was the reaction to the recent women’s / girls games we had earlier this season, did they go well and was there any feedback?

"Chesterfield FC officials have received a glowing endorsement from UEFA following the European Women’s Under-17 Championship, which featured four games staged at the Proact Stadium.

The club hosted the final of the tournament, which saw Germany beat Spain in a penalty shoot-out after the two sides were tied at 1-1 at the end of normal time.

Tournament director Adrian Bevington praised the club’s handling of the matches. He said: “Chesterfield FC have been fantastic hosts of the UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship and provided us with a great stadium for a final of this level.

“We have been really impressed with the modern facilities. The staff worked really hard to provide a great service to UEFA, The FA, the players and the fans who attended the matches.

“The final was a wonderful occasion and Chesterfield FC and their partners should be proud of the grand event they staged.”"

I am not sure what expectations they had as every tournament had previously been held at the same venue in Switzerland. They did seem pleased but it was a lot of hard work by Derbyshire FA and the Trust (the latter at some staff cost.)

Thanks for that, it is nice to hear stuff like that about our club from people who do not have an agenda either for or against our stadium. When a neutral says nice things about the ground I feel it confirms my, obviously, biased view that we do have something a bit special here, and it is not just my natural pride in our stadium colouring my opinion. I also think having internationals of any type is a great way to bring a little recognition to our club and maybe a little goodwill towards us, which can never be a bad thing to have. Also having local non-league and Sunday league teams have their finals or special games here can't help but again produce something good for the community and more goodwill with the Derbyshire FA. It would be nice to know we are actively seeking more of these things or do we have to sit back and wait to be offered them?
