Makes sense, knows the club, knows the players, can't do any worse
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

I would love to see some of the best younger lads given some game time over the coming weeks to see if they are up to it. It will also act as a good incentive to the younger lads to see if it is possible.

Still not in the betting, and sky bet pay out if he's in caretaker charge for 10 games....

I've tweeted them for a price

If he does enough and gets the gig full time, you have to wonder if this was planned (although not in such a short space of time) if DS was brought in as some kind of 'night watchman' to take the flack whilst the assets were sold off, paving the way for someone to come in and rebuild from the bottom up.

 Sat'days cup game against the Saddler will be a tough test to start with.Lets hope he can gee the team up.The talent is there,I know we got the rub of the green when we won at their place,so he can build on that.

I have to wonder if you're giving those responsible for 'planning' far too much credit.
We're on our way

it begs the question what Ritchie humphries is doing at the club, surely he was the obvious candidate if he has any managerial ambition.Smith has been out of management years

Well as it stands he's contracted as a player ;)

Someone with experience but a while ago versus someone with none at all....

Not a chance of getting the job full time....... cannot go down that line again by recruiting from within.

there's a clear conflict of interest. He can't be Chair of the PFA and in management. He might be in dispute with himself.

D A must have realised quite some time ago that Saunders needed to be replaced so he has already had plenty of time already to consider a replacement.
Worst case scenario is temp manager doing well for a few weeks and then being appointed full time as that never works.

Someone has to get 9 wins from 26 games. It's not a mountainous task for a good manager.

Brief loan and scored a very good header into the kop end I think.

Smith favorite for job permanently @2/1 on BetVictor now but if they pay out after 10 games in charge I suppose they have to put him up there.
Here we go again!
