Although in some respects the role he played in the good Bolton team as a lone striker bringing in the 5 man midfield (with Kevin Nolan etc) is similar to Cooks style of play. He was more able to pull defenders out of position in his younger days at Bolton. With us he was Duncans prime (and probably) sole outlet from the nine man defence.

Dyche was at Northampton when we went there fighting relegation, but didn't make the match day squad.

Mercer and Holland played in the same team against us for Bristol City twice - 1999-2000 season.
