Comment from a Sheff Utd board.

"Got to be the most disappointing signing of recent times.
What on earth has he got to bring to the table?....Porter is better, a sad fact.
We need a new centre forward and soon."

Did we get lucky?

Id take it with a pinch of salt. It wasn't that long ago Doyle was getting stick from certain sections on here and anyone looking in from the outside would have thought the same. Goals change opinions, he scored the other day and god forbid he scores against us he'll then be the best thing since sliced bread to them.

Very true and some are already becoming much more positive about him since he has scored 2 in 2.

Fickle springs to mind

That's the perfect description of most football fans up and down the land to be fair.

I'm not sure fickle is a fair description to be honest, most people are critical of players because they want them to improve for the good of the club. Doyle was criticised last season because he missed too many chances and he was getting pushed about too easy, this season he has taken more chances (although I was a little bit worried when he took that extra touch when he had that chance near the end on Saturday!) and has upped his game physically and he is rightly getting praise for the improvement.
Higdon is getting criticism because he is overweight and doesn't look fit and hasn't looked bothered, the goals will help but I'm sure if he loses some timber and ups his effort they will all love him.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.
