Ched Evans & his Doris pleading for him to play again!

Now, i don't know what to make of this! A convicted rapist (in a court of law)..
* His girlfriend has stood by him for 4 years?? Don't know what to make of that!
* His life will be a misery if he ever steps onto a football pitch again??

My honest opinion & a father of two grown up 18 & 21 year old girls....I would let him rot forever

His mrs wants his goal bonus. Nothing else to it. Even if he says he didn't rape the other lass, he still shagged her regardless. She's as stupid as him.
Here we go again!

There are a lot of issues with the verdict that make me feel distinctly uneasy as a male.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

IMO the club want to sign him and their refusal to comment on this says he going to sign someway or another - looks like this is a smoke screen to gauge their own fans views and maybe the general football view.
God I hate this league.

I cant see Cloughie being happy about signing Evans bearing in mind the decent way his father Brian brought him up

I read that there is going to be a post-sentence appeal. They could simply pay him a basic retainer whilst not playing him until the appeal decision comes through. That way, they've next to nowt to lose - if he were to win his appeal then the pro-Evans sentiment would be huge. If he doesn't appeal, or he loses, sack him off.

Just a thought, if he was a builder or worked in a bank would she have gone out with him in the first place and would she have given HIM a second chance. mmmm!

There's an easy answer to that!!...a big fat NO

You have to question the integrity of a girl like that, sticking by him after his conviction of an appalling crime - would she want kids with him?? Oh yes, your daddy was a brilliant footballer.....but also a convicted rapist!!...awful sounding i know, but true!

I look at it this way. How many companies would knowingly employ a convicted rapist? Especially a company that was in the public eye. Not many I would guess. Would any of you employ a rapist if you owned your own company? I certainly would never even think of it. Football is no different to any other employer IMO

Rotherham have only signed about 14 strikers they might want him. I can't see the Mr Hubbard having any issues signing him

I have a daughter a bit older than yours and I believe offenders should be given a second chance. If he had been a talisman on the field for Chesterfield some of us would view his return to the team positively, some would not - just as Blades fans are divided over the issue.

This.

Everyone deserves a second chance especially when it's highly debatable if he really is guilty.

I know what your saying mate, but rape is a completely different kettle of fish...it angers with the likes of McCormick & the others who killed people....it's the victims families I feel for...their faces being rubbed in it, by the these 'fortunate' professionals carrying on their lucrative lives when other people pick the pieces of broken lives.

I for one would never accept it if one of our stars took this despicable path...as for the blades, a 65,000 petition not wanting him is enough of a big message....isn't this particular case the first for a footballer in England???
