I remember gates of 15000+ for games against United and Wednesday at Saltergate. We should be able to get a sell out for this one

With more than half the crowd being Deedah though.

Don't remember them personally but I do remember Barnsley around 1980 one Boxing Day being a massive crowd.

Yes I remember that, over 17000, bit dangerous on the Kop I thought from overcrowding. Think we lost 1-0

More than half the crowd deedah- utter tosh, absolute max of 3-4k from them, well over 10k town

Against Barnsley we drew 0-0' can't comment on the Kop being crowded but there was plenty of room on Compton Street, we were commenting at the time that it was surprisingly roomy and for the first time we understood how we could have got 30k gates in

I think the crowd was over 18000 for the 0-0 draw with Barnsley the biggest crowd in my time of watching the Town

I stood on Compton Street as well that day as the Kop was rammed. Didn't Peter Lorimor play for Barnsley that day (something like player manager)?

I think you are confusing him with Allan Clarke

Was there that day too.Had friends in the crowd who were big Barnsley fans and they said after the match that they had tried to get in the away end but the club had closed the gates. Quite laughable when you could see barriers behind their goal with hardly anyone standing at them.

Yep....tickets being sold in E2 which means the segregation under the stand cant be done so they cant go in there.

Get em sold out folks. I wouldn't want a deedah sat next to me. Especially a local deedah sympathiser.
