There's much I hate about today's football speak. The use of the word 'group', however, is the one that really gets up my nose. "With all his experience our new centre back will bring a new dynamic to the group" etc, etc. Since when were football players a group? You can have a Rock Group but a Football Group....nah! They're a team for god's sake. And whilst we're at it, how can a manager 'lose the dressing room'? It's down the corridor, third door on the left.

Sean Dyche uses it a lot.
So it’s not so bad.

A project, or vision, is something we're sadly lacking and need. Makes perfect sense to me.

"Hes a unit" "blahblah..the football club" "You're better than that" and anything else Chris Sutton tries to establish as a catchphrase in his desperate search for a radio persona.

And run-out music.

SKY....

more than a decade ago it was the “big two”, then more recently the ‘big four”, now it’s “the big six”, soon to be expanded to the “big eight” as Chelsea, Manure and bottom” continue their decline.

It seemed to be the big 5 when I was a lad in the 80s. Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham, Arsenal and Man United. I thought it was an actual thing that was set in stone.

Don't think so, bottom and Manure in the 90's when SKY started

That's another word I hate, now it's 'the narrative', in the old days ie was 'the story'

WB will say that's two words

I'm quite sure. I remember reading a hardback football book on the beach in Devon in the late 80s and the big 5 was absolutely a thing.
