Nelson was a cracking signing. Just as bad as any previously mentioned

Nigel Hart
Nathan Abbey

They are two stinkers. Like for Like Nigel was far worse than Nelson or Gerrard

Just in the last couple of years we've had some garbage and then if you go further back i'm sure we've had plenty as well. You can probably cobble a few together just from that mass of loan signings we had under Sheridan when we got relegated from League 1 and had a run of 18/19 games without a win. During that spell Trotman was one of the better loan signings he made!!

TBH I didn't think Nigel Hart was that bad, of course hed never figure in a book of best Spireite centre halves but I thought he copped a lot of flack for being the managers brother at the time when Paul Hart was starting to lose his way!

For years I considered Nigel Hart the worst player I'd seen in a Town shirt, with Trevor Hebberd the most disappointing. Hart was often played out of position at left-back where he would keep hoofing it into the stand by accident.
However, among the dross we've had since Cook left , both would fail to make the worst twenty Town players I've seen now.
These go to eleven.

Jason Lee was bad but he was comfortably not the worst player we have ever signed. The deal to bring him here makes him seem 10 times worse.

All of the current squad are worse than he was and for worst player ever? Michael Barnes.

Agree with what others have said, Hart was absolutely fine at CB the problem was we kept playing him at left back where we basically set him up to fail.

If you consider the transfer fee for Jason Lee he probably was the biggest waste of money?

Nathan Abbey was no where the near worst signing we made, nor the worst keeper we’ve had.

Didn’t he win player of the year?

Colin Prophett? blimey, no wonder you're a failed manager. His goal against the deedahs '78 deserves recognition just for the fact he told us a few days earlier in Lincoln club that he would score against the bowels.

Bill Curry (Mansfield) was on a par with Gerrard for fitness.

Abbey was one of the worst, I remember laughing when he got player of the year, shows how bad the rest of the team was.

Ben Williams (for us at least) was up there too but I think Anyon has to be the WORST.

Maybe we can get an 11 worst together lol

Abbey gets remembered for two things, letting in 6 on his debut and the argument about giving his shirt away (i can't recall where).

He was a decent keeper for us, and wouldn't be even in the top 10 worse keepers of recent times, never mind worst players of any position.

I agree he was nowhere near as bad as he is made out to be and would not get in the worst signings team as keeper for me that is a straight battle between anyon and Astbury.
