Nice to see the AGM date set for the 24/2/20.

Is the timing a further sign that the takeover is little more than a formality? I know it has to be held by soon financial rules but that soon?

The club have until 31/03/20 to hold the AGM and file the accounts at Companies House to avoid a penalty.

Thinking ahead, I wonder what bombshell the accounts will show for last year?

I will go for a loss of between £1.8M & £2M.

I wonder to what extent losses are attributable to the employment of Saunders Caldwell and Allen re their salaries and players signed by them, not forgetting Sheridan of course. DA and AC chose these managers. New owners shouldn't be saddled by the financial consequences of these mistakes.

It would also appear they chose certain buisness/service providing partners whos deals could be attributable to the huge losses!

This AGM will be as pointless as trying to buy a ticket on a Wednesday.

Folk'll once again ask who got what and when and why. They'll ask why there's been yet another logic denying loss. They'll ask why there's yet another new face in the manager's chair. They'll ask why there's yet another relegation battle. They'll ask why the same old people are delivering the same old screw-ups excused by the same old, well, let's call them 'mixed messages'.

But the owner will just stay well away. But the Chairman will just shrug his shoulders and deflect with a few semi-amusing quips. But Carson will just tell us whatever he wants us to believe. But the Ass' D's will just quote the same delusional hubris they've often quoted before (which'll then become 'poor little victim me' on social media afterwards). But the 'Shorts' bloke'll just wriggle and squirm and insist he can 'only work with the figures I'm given'.

And even if it becomes the kinda interrogation it should've been years ago the top table will just reference the potential takeover.

Infact come to think of it the only reason to attend might be to say you were there at the very last AGM of the current Chesterfield FC...

Well, I'm a bit more hopeful than Chris - I note that item one on the agenda is "Apologies," so I'm expecting Carson to stand up and say "I apologise for the awful way in which we've run the club."
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

As usual, I'm looking forward to dissecting Carson's annual Strategic Planning Summary which is a must read at the front of the accounts. In all the years he's done it it's contained, er, nowt. This years contribution could be even more entertaining. It's supposed to tell us what his plan is for this financial year.

Then we'll get to the bit where the Chairman insists on moving discussion on whether to approve the accounts to AOB. Always a good laugh.

And then there's the formality of reappointing Shorts.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

We've pretty much had that and it means little to nothing.

I can't make it this year due to family commitments. Looking forward to hearing how the top table avoided direct questions, insulted the club's shareholders and failed to apologise for the shambles that is CFC

Anyone know if tonight can be followed anywhere?

Will be stuck in Alfreton but looking forward to what questions get answered and what gets filed under 'confidentiality agreement' and also if Mike Warner has got any new material!

I'll be interested to know if Shorts are being reappointed given the expected change of ownership or if the Trust has their own preferred finance people...

Also can someone ask if they plan having a proper financially literate person to oversee numbers as that has clearly been an issue for the last x years since Alan left...

I hope every single one of them sits there, with their heads hanging down in shame (well, Carson won't because he has no shame).

They should be left in no doubt that none of them will be tolerated at a match or CFC related event ever again, once the takeover is completed.
