I would be interested to see how this is broken down. Would happily see a great chunk of it go towards grass roots football myself.

Prob just a sweetener for letting B teams enter the league structure

The vast majority of this money given to "grassroots" football is actually parachute payments to mismanaged clubs that have been relegated from the Premier League. This means they can claim to be paying money into the lower leagues.

I agree, this could be an indirect way of buying votes to get B teams in the league

the FL should take the parachute payments off these clubs and distribute them equally amongst all members, level playing field and all that. The payments totally distort the competition and give the relegated teams an unfair advantage.
